Gotta to say Mitchell fought a good fight and gained my total respect. he was up in the fight so was unlucky but there was no way that ref could let the fight go on he was a right mess.

Linares looked decent and seemed to be very heavy handed but Mitchell was unlucky with the clash of heads. I hope he gets another shot but as a lot mentioned on here i think he is just a bit below world level which is a shame cause he is a top bloke.

Cost him a few kwid in lost earnings that defeat as he would have landed a leading role in TOWIE with all the es*** soft boys being ringside , Amazes me how hes getting praised for a cut eye and the masses on here were screaming Burns is done after going 10 rounds with a broken jaw ffs :patsch

Mitchell was 6 up on one card, 2 up on the other and level on one. With the knockdown in the 10th, he would have been been behind on one and level on one. Linares was on top though he he would have taken a split decision if the 11th and 12th went the same way as the 10th. Saying that, Mitchell was still boxing very well.

slightly more than a cut eye, swelling like that ended the fight as soon as it appeared fighting with one eye is a slight hinderance wouldn't you say?

Mitchell was a tad unlucky to sustain the swollen eye which ultimately led to his hasty unravelling. He was up in the fight and doing well before the final round. I wouldn't mind seeing the rematch as it was, afterall, a great fight.

Id think going 10 rounds with your jaw smashed is a far bigger issue than mitchells cut eye

If it wasn't in Britain I think they'd have stopped Mitchell with that cut a few rounds before. Now, if so, would the fight have gone to the scorecards as the cut was caused by a head clash, or does that only happen if the fight is stopped immediately after the head clash?

No it would have gone to the score cards. They'll try to prolong the fight as long as they can.

Stating a fact that the es*** crew Hearn included are giving it the big un your a warrior etc etc yet because rickys scottish they all think hes done , If kevin gets anywhere near a world sshot before Ricky again its a disgrace as hes been blown out everytime hes had his chance , if he was going to win at world level saturday was his golden ticket against a fighter who was weight drained having to visit the scales twice

Cheers. So surely Mitchell has grounds to feel ****ed off that they didn't stop it. That cut was dreadful.

I agree ricky is the better of the two and yes Mitchell has fallen short 3 times now but how can anyone on this thread take the **** regarding what he should do next when he has just put himself through hell to try and win a world title , by the way I don't think anyone has ever questioned ricky;s bravery ?

Until burns decides what weight he is fighting at a title shot likes a million miles away should of just stayed at the weight instead of making excuses about the weight after the Crawford fight if he did he might now be in line for a title shot but going up a weight and looking shocking at the same time means he has wasted the past year his last fight showed us he still in the mix but I doubt he will ever win a title again hope im wrong
