I've argued with him for over an hour once. It was one of the funniest moments of my life. The dude is hilarious. There's no getting through to him
If he could throw physical abuse in the form of punches at his opponents as often and as hard as he throws verbal abuse at every guy in Boxing he might not be such a joke of a man.
That "joke of a man" is a 2 weight world champion and one of the toughest fighters of the last decade,
One of the better, more educated and articulate pundits on the scene at the moment. I'm chuckling at the Mong who thinks that they "couldn't get through to him". Probably means you are wrong for a start.....
I can imagine that he is an interesting guy with strong opinions, some I agree with, some I don't. I get the impression he rarely changes his mind once it's made up.
I have a been a big fan of his throughout his career. He also appears to be one of the better broadcasters in the game. I just hate how biased he is when it comes to Pacquiao. I can't stand Merchant-esque biases toward individual fighters. The best commentators offer objective opinions with no personal bias.
Fought the best fighters of his generation around his weight class. Gave Miguel 12 good rounds w/ a broken orbital. Solid wins over Juan Diaz, Judah, Senchenko and N'Dou. Never quit while taking beatings from Khan and Hatton. I'd say he is pretty tough. On a side note, that soft, pathetic punch he throws as the referee stops the Khan fight is one of the only times I have felt bad for a fighter.
