BHop: "Let his time come, let him display his championship abilities. (...) That's something I'm looking forward to not only as a promoter, but also as a mentor." 1:43 http://www.rds.ca/combat/boxe/prêt-à-devenir-champion-1.2366578 Will BHop be part of Lemieux's training camps? Maybe just in his corner during fights? :bbb
Very interesting if Bernard will step in as a mentor. I couldn't read the article, I learned spanish in school not french....:hi:
That's gold. B-Hop is such a guy you expect to become a very good trainer. You never know in advance of course, but he really seems to be the type.
(Hopkins is not quoted in the article, he's in the video though) Lemieux: "N'Dam is a very tough guy but I'm not Quillin. He's going to realize what it is to step in the ring with me, and I'll make sure he won't have a good time during the fight. I know my abilities, I know his as well, and I'm not worried about the outcome of the fight." "He's the type of opponent against which I need several tools in my toolbox. He moves exceptionally well, he adapts, he's a complete fighter. However I'll be ready to run, fight going backwards and of course go to war with him. I will leave nothing in the gym." Ramsay: "The last fight (against Rosado) determined a few things for us. Ever since we began our partnership, I wanted David to see different styles: lefties, righties, durable guys. I wanted him to go around the block a bit to see what's out there." "Before the Rosado fight, there were several questions about David. How was he going to beat him? How was he going to react to a hostile environment? Initially, I thought we were two fights away from a title fight but he made me change my mind with that fight!"
Too slick, yeah maybe. Ramsay said he prepared Lemieux to deal with really fast hands on the night, FWIW. Have faith.
Cool. That would be a good charge for BHop to help develop, a guy with explosive power and fast hands.
