Blackwell troubles him no two ways about it - if it's such a comfortable fight for Eubank why didn't he take it when it was in front of him?

Eubank is a strong boy and looks to over power opponents, wearing them down thrown in with a bit of flash and brash. Blackwell will be there until the cows come home, he can fight, will keep coming forward, and has some engine on him.

The advantages that Eubank is used to having won't be there in such plain sight.

Eubanks lack of a jab, versus Blackwell powerful jab will be a major factor if they fight. From what Ive seen of CEJ he is tailormade for Blackwell. Unless CEJ can big-time introduce some extra new dimensions to his game - its Blackwell to win.

He has had two chances to fight Blackwell and didn't fancy the job either time. The guy is the biggest record padder in the sport

Only for the first 2 rounds.
    NB is a 15-round fighter.
Title fights are 12 rounds long.
Ryder is a difficult strong awkward southpaw. Taking a few rounds to figure him out is normal.
Nick held his own in the 3rd and definitely won the 4th and 5th, Ryder came back in the 6th but that was his last hurrah. The second half of the 12-rounder was always going to be Blackwell territory.

For example - had the Khomitsky fight gone into the 7th Blackwell would have stopped him too.

No good being a 15 round fighter when you are giving away early rounds in 12 round fights.

Again, their common opponent Saunders was more experienced at the point he fought Eubank but yet Eubank got the nod by one of the judges.

Blackwell is too crude for Eubank.

Are you serious? Eubank is as crude as they come. No jab. just stands flat footed throwing crude hooks.

No point in going over this again and again mate! Its the biggest myth out of the weekend's O2 card that Blackwell was being outboxed. Only worsened by the biased/inept commentary from Pauli and Adam Smith. I would remind you that Smith said that Ryder was more talented before a punch had been thrown!

One more time for anyone that genuinely wants to listen; Ryder wasn't outboxing Blackwell at the time of the stoppage. Ryder won the first two rounds partially due to skill factors yes, but also due to awkwardness and his crouching style. Blackwell was increasingly landing his jab, hitting with the cleaner shots and even outboxing Ryder while against the ropes. Ryder was getting frustrated and had been hurt in the 5th and 6th. It wasn't 'getting caught' it was more that Blackwell took the first opportunity that came to him. He wins that fight every night of the week.

Eubank poses a different threat but they are actually quite similar. What I would say is that if Blackwell had been afforded the same opportunities as Eubank promotionally then this might be a completely different conversation. Eubank hasn't beaten anyone that Blackwell couldn't.

I do think CEJ has a better engine than Ryder, possibly is more in love with the game appetite-wise and has less vunerability to mark up facially. But thats about it. In all other respects, John Ryder is infinitely more skilled tricky awkward complicated etc.

CEJ would be a much more straightforward proposition for Blackwell IMO.

You can see thats when he feels he is in co trol and stronger and the opponent is inferior. If it were a better or more dangerous opponent you would see more boxing.

Id fancy CEJ tbph but I really do foresee Blackwell fighting his heart out and keeping his respect. I think CEJ would stop him late. I saw something new to Jrs game in the Chud fight and I think those combinations woiuld tell late. I know for a fact it'd be sink or swim or CEJ though. Just the type of fight he nees and blackwell has earned a shot at that interim strap.

After they sparred. Eubank jr wants nothing to do with him.

Unless Eubank shows me anything different in his next fight I honestly fancy Blackwell to beat him on workrate alone

Ive been reading through this thread, Blackwells pressure started to get to Ryder but also those right hands up close( alot of which Adam Smith ignored) were taking their toll on Ryder then in the 5th the body punches.

Ryder did the worse thing possible and tried to take the fight to Ryder = Suicide
he was better off boxing Blackwell , yet i think Blackwell would still have got to him in the end
