I'm not a Mayweather fan

Furthermore, I didn't disparage Pacquiao on the basis of catchweight fights

I felt they took something away from the wins, but they were still amazing wins because he was a smaller guys moving up and putting a beat down on bigger guys

Hence why I'm a Pacquiao fan

I'm getting real tired of this catchweight ****. I think catchweights are a disgrace to boxing.

A middleweight title fight is at 160. If you're "not a natural middleweight", then vacate the title and move down.

First, people were sh!tting on Cotto for not fighting a middleweight. Now that he's fighting a legit middleweight people still find sh!t to b!tch about. Hey, Cotto whooped Martinez's diva a55. Get over it, son!

...Also what happened to people saying belts don't matter anymore? It's funny how they only don't matter when it's convenient.

I'm not crazy about what Cotto is doing. I don't think he needs a catchweight to beat Geale, but I like his competition. He just beat the sh!t out of Martinez, he's fighting Geale to test the waters, then he'll fight Canelo, and to top it off, he'll probably fight Golovkin. Possibly retiring after taking a vicious beating from Golovkin. Yeah, Golovkin has to sit on the backburner, but the light at the end of the tunnel is Golovkin might move up and fight Froch anyways.

 

Cotto will never fight Golovkin. Haven't you worked that out yet?

 

Everyone's hating on Cotto because he's being a complete b1tch holding the linear MW title hostage & refusing to fight at, or allow his opponents to fight at, the MW limit.

 

He beat a shot to pieces Martinez who was clearly LOST his previous fight to Murray, and prior to that was nearly KTFO by a skeletonized Chavez Jr.

I'll concede it was PROBABLY the wet canvas which caused him to hurt his knees in the Murray fight, but Murray had to deal with those same conditions and KD'd Sergio a couple of times and was not credited, and to top it off, even w/o the KDs, he STILL was up on MOST ppls cards.

That said, GGG could move up to CW, next week, and give RJJ a payday at a 190lb CW. Roy would jump on it, and GGG would obliterate him coming into the ring at maybe 175.

That win right there, would easily be better that beating a 40 yo Martinez on shot legs. At least RJJ is a HOFer, an ATG, and aint shot to bits.

Sadly, Martinez ducked GGG for 3 yrs, and picked what he thought would be an easy payday in Cotto.

Had he not, he was ready to fight GGG, and that woulda been a disaster.

Cotto should say F the Canelo fight, and rather than passing Canelo the title, he should pass it to GGG in the ring, and force Canelo to fight GGG for it.

That way he saves face saying he lost to the absolute best p4ps of his career, Floyd, Manny, and GGG.

And not some Ginger cherry picker, Canelo, who is far bigger than GGG and will more easily make the CW.:nono

 

Geale almost never sticks to a plan.

He's constantly fighting down to the level of his opponent.

He's gonna end up losing by robbery, considering every rd in which he outlands Cotto 13-8 will be called a Cotto rd b/c Cotto came forward more often than did Geale.atsch

 

Only the mentally ill(GGG fans) would want Cotto to lose. Cotto could bring two mega fights to the sport if he wins. A fight with Mayweather and a fight with Alvarez. Both of those fights are bigger, better and more exciting than GGG's entire career devouring over matched bums.
