That left hook for the first KD was sickening. Geale should have held when he got back up. Geale seemed to have no real gameplan for that fight. Still, I can't take this catchweight **** seriously. Just right there with Kellerman Cotto just said he's not a middleweight. So vacate the damn belt.

Geale did not belong at that level whatsoever.

i said on another forum i thought cotto on points was a good bet as i thought he would do well to stop geale who is tough and naturally a bigger man but that he would definately win. what a shot cant believe he took him out so early

It aload of absolute sh*t. If he stopped Geale at 160 I would give him credit but there is no telling what effect that weight loss had on him. It just a crock of sh*t.

If people thought FIFA were bad then then need to take a look at boxing. Corruption and malpractice everywhere. From promoters to governing bodies. Fact is the WBC should tell Cotto to fight GGG next or vacate and go somewhere else. I mean he won't even fight Canelo.

I love how people like to write off Cotto now he's past his best. He's stopped his last 3 opponents and is the 2nd best Middleweight in the world moving up from welterweight, what more do you want him to do? F uck knows how he lost to Austin Trout though, strange performance that.

You can't say he is the second best middleweight in the world because he is not actually allowing his opponents to fight at 160 because of his financial clout. We can all speculate that the weight wouldn't have made a difference (to Geale) but that's all it is speculation. Both his wins have a massive asterix next to them. After all if the the weight doesn't matter why make his opponents go down to 159-157 etc.

I don't regard him as anything else than a fraud at middle at the moment. I don't see how any respectable commentators can call him the lineal champ.

WBC need to strip cotto if he keeps trying to get people coming in looking like cadavers to keep hold of the middleweight belt

I agree he's not the second best middle etc. But let's remember Martinez weighed 159 against Murray and Chavez Jr. Can we all have a bit of a level head here please? The 159 didn't lose Martinez that fight, although his duffed knee most likely did.

As for Geale, I refuse to believe that losing 3 pounds had anything to do with how terrible his tactics were. Neither in his own range nor out of Cotto's. Losing weight will either have reduced his punch resistance or affected his stamina later in the fight. He was comprehensively outboxed the first 4 rounds.

Did he need to pull him down in weight? No. Should he have done it? Probably not. But I dont think it makes much of a difference.

Cotto vs Alvarez has history, has PR vs Mexico rivalry. Let's see it first. It'll be a barnstormer. Title on line or not it's a fight of the year contender. If Cotto wins I think he'll fight GGG.
