I believe he is. He looks more ripped and shredded at his weigh ins now. I don't think Cotto was true 154lber back then. I believe he is now. I also think he hydrates to a higher weight now than he did while fighting Trout and mayweather.

He's definetly stronger. Faster and more focused on the body and using his tools, not fighting against himself by letting his opponent lead.

He's getting off first. Thats not something we saw him doing for spells during the Mayweather and Trout fights.

I'd pick this Cotto to obliterate Floyd, Trout, and Lara all within a nights work.
So long as he got Floyd first, KO3, trout second, KO5, and then he could go 12 with Lara running from him.:yep:yep

Cotto used to have love handles @ 154. No longer the case. He looks solid.

Same stupid **** as Pac vs May..fans trying to argue who has the better one sided win over the same overmatched opponent in the same time span.

Yeah....he's definitely no WW any longer.

    I like him, always have.

    Even after the Margarito fight.

I don't hold that against him since CHEATO had plaster wraps. You could tell by the swelling induced to Cotto's face.

That said.....he's not close to shot like some feared, including myself.

I believe he'd mop the floor with Mayweahter, Trout, and Lara, and a Pacqioua rematch at 152 would end Pacqioua's career permanently.

Would like to see him fight Canelo at 154, drop his MW title, allowing GGG and Heiland/Quillin/Martinez/Jacobs???? to fight it out for it :think:think:think

Then if GGG can't get a fight with Lemiuex,NDam winner, he should just leave MW to the duckers, and go to SMW where he can force fights with Abe(WBO?), Ward, DeGale, and Jack or Dirrels, and even possibly Zurdo.

Build an ATG resume at SMW rather than continue getting ducked at MW.

Saying Geale was weight drained is a joke, he makes 160lbs ans fought at 154lbs first half of his career. He is only 5'10 at best maybe slightly shorter and has a little pot belly, getting down to 157lbs was nothing.

Geales is a dog and a quitter (twice)

Who can you see him fight in his last two fights at 154? I'm assuming he's fighting canelo next. Maybe Floyd and that leaves one more.

Here's the thing though, people go on and on saying Cotto beat a worthless shot to **** Sergio, and some say he will not be able to compete because of his size. So if all his is true, why does he not get to prove to himself that if wasn't just because Martinez was shot, and that he's not too small to compete. If he just got "lucky" against Martinez, then why were people trying to throw him in against the best/next best fighter of the division for his very next fight??

Cotto knows he wouldn't beat GGG. But hey, whatever, he's not a middleweight.

Only in your world would being knocked out and losing 2 out of your last 4 fights would see you be a better fighter.

I bet you think Eric Crumble was only a few more fights away from winning a title. I mean look how seasoned he became...

While you're dreaming, you might as well throw GGG, Andy Lee and Quillin in there. All in one night. Oh hell, you can throw King Kong and Gonzilla in there too.

A ruined by GGG weight drained zombified Geale boxed Cotto unsuccessfully (who was fighting super defensively) for 3 rounds was never hurt, then Cotto came out landed a massive intentional illegal headbutt followed by his left hook to get his guy out in 4.

Geale who was healthy as a horse and not even remotely weight drained for the GGG match, he fought terrified from the opening bell got dropped legitimately by a punch all the while GGG was stalking him cutting off the ring literally turning him into a rat in a cage who couldn't escape and KO'd him while simultaneously being hit flush.

You tell me which was more impressive?
