I am going to say this right now. Brook and Thurman might take the torch but they are going to have big problems trying to hold it. There are two young welters that is about to change the whole face of the division. One is Erroll Spence and the other (while not a welter yet but will soon go there) is Imir Imam. The only thing that's gonna stop these young men is they don't get the fights.

 

There is no torch to pass. Somebody comes and takes the torch by virtue of performance. Nobody is on the throne of boxing right now. There is no hero or icon in boxing. The last one was Manny.

I understand your point. It's arbitrary to determine what is a mainstream star. PPV numbers don't tell the whole story. You have to consider the performances of the fighter and their following in countries that don't broadcast PPV.
