Would you like to see Ward move to 175?

No. He's a 168 lber and there's much left to be done there.

There are weight divisions for a reason. Stupid move imo.

 

Year or two? That's what I would guess will happen.

Fighters should fight at whichever weight they feel best at or want to compete at. No real merit behind claims of "nothing left in the division, move up." That's great if a fighter wants to challenge themselves that way but by no means should be expected of them nor be held against them if they don't move up or down to fit the desires of particular fans (in this scenario it seems often their haters demand they change divisions more often than their fans).

Exactly. He's 173.4 2 and a half weeks b4 the weight in. He'll be bloated up horribly.

Ward is too small for 175 imo. He should stay at 168 as long as he can make the weight comfortably.

 

He's not too small because his skills make up the difference. No one at 175 has half the skill of Ward.

 

Not now but eventually. Nobody poses a real test at 175. He's too skilled and too clever.

 

Ward first needs to clean out the Middle weight division and then clean out 172.

 

If this is a consensus and you feel Ward would be too small for 175, why is everyone asking GGG to go 168. He is even smaller 168 pounder than Ward is 175 relatively speaking. Makes no logic.

 

I want to see Ward (well any top boxer really) in interesting competitive fights.

So I want him to fight wherever that is. At the moment I'd say at 168 Degale, Dirrell and maybe a Froch rematch are worthy fights. If there is no-one after that then I'd like to see him move up, though 175 is pretty slim pickings too, after Kov and the Pimp.

Thats what I want though, if Andre decides to stay at 168 thats his prerogative and I would accept that.

I mean he's already established himself as the SMW king so any further wins there are just bonus at best, the division isn't really very strong at the moment as well, we've got DeGale and that's it who'd be a decent victory I guess (forgot Badou Jack, that'd be another "okay" win I guess):

Zurdo is young and inexperienced - hasn't build himself up yet for that level.

Froch has already been beaten and personally it's not a fight I'm interested in seeing at all, if Ward dominated a prime Froch, I don't see how a nigh retired one would produce a different outcome, other than Ward being even more dominant.

Groves needs to build himself up again after that devastating loss, at this point a win over Groves does nothing for Ward, he's just lost his relevence for the time being in my eyes.

Kessler is old and should be retired, not interested in that at all.

Now he can fight all these guys and whatever else and dominate SMW and I've no problem with that either, I don't think all fighters should take May/Pac route and jump weightclasses all the time, I'm fine with fighters dominating their own divisions.
