Calzaghe brittle hands and early retirement prevented him from eclipsing Bhop. What old man river is doing is quite remarkable. He is an ATG.
Calzaghe clowned Hopkins and the man clowned him (Jones). 46-0. Clean fighter, not dirty like Hopkins.
Although B-Hop legitimately lost their fight, there's no question who is the greater fighter. Like Razor says, it's not even close
Zaggers Had B Hop beaten Sergey he would have run him closer, but he didnt, he did his usual and stunk out the joint
Has to be Hopkins. Much better resume. More weight classes. Fighting for and winning world titles at his age. It's really staggering what Hopkins has achieved. Joe has the unbeaten record, a reasonable resume and was a fantastic fighter but, Hopkins has achieved more for sure.
Big Calzaghe fan here but I think B-hop ranks higher in the ATG rankings. Incredibly boring fighter though imo.
This can't even be a legit topic for debate. The only thing Calzaghe has over Hopkins is that 0. That's the only thing, and that has always drawn such scrutiny due to the level of competition against ehich it was achieved. Still, it's no small feat. That being said, the achievements, the taking challenges and risks, the longevity, the ability to reinvent himself several times over, underdog in many of his big fights, the multi weight classes.... all clearly are for Hopkins. The things he's done since he's turned 40 are impresssive in their own right. The fact that he continues to challenge himself at age 50 in ways Calzaghe rarely did speaks volumes.
