So the fight that was supposed to happen 7 years ago is set to "happen" again in June of this year.

Bellator has made the announcement but noted that neither fighter has been licensed yet for the upcoming bout. News sites say that Shamrock is going to be subject to additional testing due to his age.

Who do you guys take on this one? I am not an MMA fan boy or anything like that, but unless Shamrock can take Kimbo down straight away, Kimbo is probably going to win by brutal KO.

Shamrock says he's better now than he was 15 years ago which is laughable if you consider that the last time he beat an even somewhat known name was 11 years ago, and since then, has been KO'd in something like 8 out of his 10 last fights...

He also says that everybody "back in the day" knew that he was going to beat Kimbo which i never remember either reading or hearing. I was pretty active on the net at that time and I think the collective opinion of even MMA guys was that Shamrock, who was badly shot and past his prime in 2008 was most likely going to be knocked out...

He also claims that his bare-knuckle fight against James Quinn McDonagh (From the movie KNUCKLE) is a "tune up" fight for Kimbo. Keep in mind that Shamrock was/is not expected to win against JQM....

Shamrock should be able to submit him if he fights smart.

I think the same thing too. Shamrock for the last few years has always talked a big game and then when it gets close to fight day, backed out for some reason or another.

He will either suffer some kind of injury, or he won't pass his medicals due to some reason.

There was a theory in 2008 that Shamrock cut himself backstage to avoid fighting Kimbo the 1st time because he knew he was gonna get wasted.

Looks like Ken passed the pre-fight drug test for next week's fight.

I was stunned. He looks in good shape, sure, but I still believe Kimbo wins this fight. I just can't see Shamrock turning back the clock at 51 years old. Kimbo is not a world-beater but he is better than several of the last journeymen opponents that fought and KO'd Shamrock.

For Free TV, i'm going to watch just for entertainment value

Ken needs to get the fight to the ground ASAP if he wants to win.

As much as I hate to say it I think Kimbo is going to knock Shammy out.

Just a fight to make some money because of name recognition.

Kimbo has no real ground game, if Shamrock takes him down it's over for Kimbo. If they try keeping it standing, I say it will go Kimbo's way.

Another big factor is how seriously Kimbo has taken his training.

Kimbo probably gets him out early when Shamrock tests the waters standing. Still more exciting than watching Rousey in another hand picked slaughter or Jon Jones poke peoples eyes out.

The bellator videos show Kimbo went back to American Top Team. I think for Shamrock this is a one and done fight, but i believe Kimbo sticks around a little while

If Ken gets him down, then he will have a damn good chance of finishing it. I know Kimbo has been claiming that he is a well-rounded fighter these days, but I can't help but think of how far out his element he seemed when he was taken down in his past fights, especially when he will be going against a grappler like Shamrock. Hopefully Ken will take it old-school with one of his heel hooks.

Shamrock's ground game is overrated, particularly considering whose around now. He does have decent ground control but he is not really a submission master, actually far from it. Shamrock will have to be active early and push the pace hoping Kimbo gasses.
