So by that logic every top athlete should be about 6'6 or so.

And it's just been pretty much established that RJJ was the best athlete ever in boxing and he weighed about 175, even that doesn't square with your comments about bigger is better. He may very well have been a better athlete when he fought at 154 than when he fought at 193. He was probably a lot quicker and had better stamina.

I'm not saying size doesn't matter in sports, on average it does, but size doesn't equate to athleticism, they're too distinct things.

I will agree that if two people are equally athletic, more often than not, the taller of the two is going to do better in most sports, but that's not because he's more athletic, it's because he's taller.

Steve Nash is a perfect example. For basketball he's a midget, but his athletic ability is so superior to most that he won the MVP award.

    Diego Maradona's another example.

Maradona's exceptional vision, passing, ball control, dribbling skills, speed, reflexes and thinking time was combined with his small size (he was 5'5", or 1.65m) giving him a low center of gravity which allowed him to be more maneuverable than most other football players; he would often dribble past multiple opposing players on a run

You are just talking about speed, agility and co'ordination. That's just a few aspects of athleticism. Guys under 140lbs (No way is Nash that small or maybe even Maradona for that matter) just don't have the total package because they are midgets.

I was thinking of Martinez, wasn't he a decent pro footballer and cyclist as well?

This is hard to quantify, but if you're talking about the best all around athletes...

    RJJ
    Pacquaio
    Tyson
    Lomachenko
    Mayweather
    Rigo
    Ward
    Martinez

    Others I can't think of.

    This doesn't make any sense.

There are 140 Lb guys that are stronger and faster than you.

An example of a great 140 lb athlete is Pacquaio. If you can't see the athleticism, you're blind.

Floyd is not the most athletic boxer but he can damn near do everything better than his peers through his flawless technique and boxing IQ.
