Are there any successful trainers that have never competed as an amateur or pro?

Ruben Guerrero had 7 pro fights and lost them all, 6 by KO.

Its strange how a lot of the time ****e boxers make good trainers.

I seem to remember hearing that Steward was a very decent/good amateur (+100 bouts).

Shane McGuigan took over training Carl Frampton in 2011 and as far as I am aware only boxed as amateur.

He would have been a very good boxer if he had the desire and was focused. He had 35 amateur fights, only lost 2 and won 3 national titles.

Let's get it straight people saying "only boxed as an amateur" if you have had 50-60 amateur fights you're more experienced than half of the pro's fighting these days. 3x3 round bouts in the ABA's are harder than fighting most pro journeymen 4x3 round bouts.
