Double standards by Mayweather matching his fighters to aggresively?

    I think Floyd did a great job in his own career of being well matched to protect in his undefeated career towards the end he started taking more risks i.e Canelo and Pacquiao. But I feel now just because he fought Pacquiao he feels everyone should fight the best v best. I think Mayweather is behind the Broner v Porter matching while it is a great match up for the fans but this is the first time Broner is entering the ring as a pre fight underdog so on paper he technically has been overmatched. While Mayweather himself or even someone like Amir Khan have never taken a fight that they weren't favourite to win. If Broner looses where does he go from here with two defeats.

    Another point, Errol spence already has Mayweather suggesting Keith Thurman in Sept, I don't believe he is ready while similar ages but he is a professional novice while Keith has been on the seen longer. Errol has potential but a Thurman fight in September is to soon as far as we know Keith may well be the 3rd best Welter behind may pac.

    So potentially both Mayweathers fighters Broner and Spence could be taking losses this year. Does FM really care about the fighters careers and longevity or just a quick cash out for Mayweather promotions.

    Double standards, 'my health is important and then makes guys in his gym spar a 30 minute round.

    Like I said great for the fans but will damage the development of upcoming fighters, while Broner v Porter is a fair match up but Errol Spence has no business with Thurman just yet instead he needs to fight a Collazo, Guerrero, Rios, Garcia type fight first.

    You idiot Haymon is the behind the scenes and Mayweather promotions is leading the promotional roles expect this to become a regular pairing so yes Mayweather does have a financial interest in both fighters, you know nothing about boxing

    Mayweather has beaten over 20 world champions. He was fighter of the year at age 21. He hasn't been matched softly, but he's excelled against some really good fighters. By the time he was Broner and Spence's age, he had beaten guys like Hernandez, Manfredy, Corrales and Castillo. He was also a top 10 p4p fighter.

    I guess time will tell. Haymon is still their advisor, so I think they'll be fine.

    ...Also, After his loss to Castillo, Mayweather decided to employ his now famous pot-shotting style. When Mayweather also started hand picking his opponents, and it became more than obvious after his destruction of the at the time "has-been" Arturo Gatti who's ticket to Mayweather was beating another "has-been" in Leija. In 2007 Mayweather got away with a very close split decision win against the faded Oscar De La Hoya. It is worthy to note that despite the DLH fight being Mayweather's by far biggest payday to date, he decided to retire rather than granting Oscar a rematch. Some say it's because he feared Oscar would do better the second time around, others have justifiably speculated it was because Antonio Margarito, Paul Williams, and Miguel Cotto who were all in their prime were gunning for Floyd Mayweather Jr., I belive it was a combination of the two.

    Mayweather became a mega star after his controversial win to ODLH, and since has been even more careful in hand-picking opponents...

    Mayweather never lost to Castillo and he clearly beat Hoya. And if he's been hand picking guys since Hoya, he's done a great job since he's still p4p number 1 and has made more since then than Oscar ever made.

    Mayweather never lost to Castillo, and Whitaker never beat Chavez. Mayweather also didn't duck the ODLH rematch or Paul Williams, he just needed to retire. Also Mayweather didn't duck Margarito, he just felt he wasn't going to be as interesting as fighting the great Carlos Baldomir.

    How much money he makes is a representation of how succesful he is. How succesful he is has to do with all the attacks on his resume. You don't maintian that high of ranking and pull in that sort of cash by fighting bums. This is a guy that's consistently fighting top 5 guys and has fought numerous p4p quality fighters. You can bring up guys he beat decisively like Hoya, has beens like Margo, and retired guys like Paul Williams. Non of those guys matter enough. At the end of the day, he's still on top and he's been there for quite a long time. If he's just cheer picking, then someone Lee should try to copy the formula and see how succesful they are.

    I remember how badly people **** on Tyson, Holyfield, Duran and many others for going broke. All that resume **** is for the birds at the end of the day. If the money ain't right you will be the greatest to ever flip a burger too.
