That night Danny Williams knew that his whole life had built to that moment.
He had been groomed like a gladiator. He was so tuned to that fight. Because he felt that unless he performed in that ring. That no one would except him outside of that ring. That Williams that Tyson met that night no other boxer professionally or as an amateur had seen that Danny Williams. Other than Williams himself. Danny Williams was at the best he could be that night.

He was a different Danny on the night he fought Sanin Sam that's for sure. The only thing that stopped me falling asleep watching that fight was the noise Danny made as he kept being knocked to the canvas.

I know Tyson had the big name but he was shot to bits, in my opinion the night he knocked out Mark Potter for the British title with one arm was the highlight of his career, what a set of *******s and heart he showed that night.

You are using over a decade of hindsight there as Tyson was a huge favourite. Of course some of us called it at the time... :yep

 hindsight is a good thing I know... obviously at the time the Tyson win was massive for Danny.

But looking back on his career, that night against Potter to win the British he showed some serious *****... Great shot as well

Good thing Tyson lost really, if he finished Williams when he had him hurt then he would've gone on to fight Vitali, that would've been painful!

Superb heart and then to follow it up with the blow out of the unbeaten Meehan was possibly, with again hindsight, even more impressive.

The americans would have started the cold war again

They would have banned all russians from entering the country

    Danny fought Tysons ghost.

Why not talk about the version of Danny that fought Vitali, you know the one who spent most of the night staggering about like a drunk.

Danny had the size and the ability, shame he was more interested in eating than fighting.

The first round of that was quite embarrassing

It wasn't really a boxing beat down or anything brutal

But it was like watching some father slap around his 12 year old kid for fun or something or a cat slapping around a some half dead bird that can't fly away but can just get up a few meters just enough to make the cat have to put some kind of effort in

it is literally like I said

It was like a grown man battering around some kid for fun, the first knock down is looool

I still laugh when he fought Vitaly next and Johnny Nelson tipped Williams to win.

Nelson never tips white fighters if they are fighting a black man
