Absolute fanny fart, a disgrace to the sport of boxing and a shyte commentator. All the attributes to get a job on Boxnation.
went 9 rounds with probably the best super-middle in the world. fought 2 other world titles. almost won one of them, not a disgrace at all, I personally think he is a very good commentator
We all know how tough and dangerous boxing is, but it is also about entertainment and it's the paying public, who want to be entertained, that make a fighters living. So when a fighter turns up having made no effort to make weight, is not in the best shape and then come fight night hardly throws a punch, then fans are well within their rights to be critical. If boxers don't like this then they are in the wrong job. Plus Paul Smith was very scathing of Rocky Fielding when he failed to make weight, so he's also a hypocrite.
Was in the ring for 9 rounds yes, more due to Ward keen to get some rounds under his belt. I seen it that Ward could of stopped that whenever he liked (and smith would of happily obliged)
The ring is very safe compared to the streets mate atsch No towel to save you No ref to save you Frequently facing more than one person at the same time Your opponents decide when you have had enough Punch, kicks, knives, bullets all fair game Deaths and disability more frequent You sound like you have never put on a condom mate atsch
Paul must have made a fair few quid in the last 18 months. Fair play to him. He was never going to live with Ward, though.
Decent pundit and commentator, but as a fighter domestic level, euro level at best. First Abraham fight was close against an unmotivated Abraham and second fight he got outclassed. This whole Ward thing has been an embarrassment with the weight issues.
This is completely irrelevant. We're not proffesional boxers having trained all of our lives to fight in the ring. I'm entitled to critisise Smith for his pathetic performance. He showed up to a fight which he never deserved looking like a bag of potatoes, hardly threw a punch and was just an embarrassment. Hope he retires.
I wouldn't blame Smith. I'd blame Ward for picking him as an opponent. As for whether he deserved the fight, that's irrelevant. He was offered a good pay day and took it, like any journeyman does when they know they're going to take a loss. That's boxing.
