Round 11 Broner had a point taken.

Each of the judges scored the round 10-9 for Porter.

If they thought Broner won the round it should be 9-9.

If they thought Porter won the round it should be 10-8 to Porter.

So are they all trying to say round 11 was an even round? :think

That's crazy. How'd they work their math then?

118-108 = 11-1 in rounds for Porter (base 119-109), plus a point off Broner for the deduction and one from Porter for the KD.

So how could they have not included the point deduction and still reached that score? :huh

I don't believe the TS worked out the math before he started this thread.

Actually, looking at it they don't take the point off until the end. Rather than taking it off on the round it occurred.

They all deducted a point from Broner's overall score(which is still the wrong way to do it).

Looking at the scorecards, they just deducted the point at the very end of the fight as opposed to accounting for it in the round by round breakdown. All totals include the extra point, but it's taken away at the bottom.

The site probably could've included a line accounting for the deduction for clarity.

Well yeah technically it ought to be an individual 10-8 round but as long as they shave it off @ the end so everything calculates the right way, all good.

Broner might beat Khan. Brook, though, or Maidana in a rematch? Oh my, no.

The 114-112 card is still making me scratch my head.

The only round Broner WON was the 12th in my opinion.

    :good

114-112 requires having not looked at the ring each round except for the 15 seconds Broner was doing work.

Adding a penalty line at the bottom of the scorecard and factoring the fouls in there makes for cleaner accounting as opposed to calculating it on the spot in the round. I'd be in favor of it catching on officially.

Ultimately, it makes sticking to the 10 point must system easier for those wonky rounds where multiple point actions happen and simplifies the judges' job.
