No. Not acceptable. Everyone has an opinion. Movies make billions of dollars because of Joe public not actors coming to see each other. Same with plays and any given sport - particularly boxing with it's record purses. Other boxers aren't filling each others pockets. God forbid you have an opinion on a war despite not being a soldier, strategist or politician. In fact don't have an opinion on anything you don't directly have experience of - that may include art, music, science, nature etc. Congratulations you are now a shut in and social pariah. Pair of idiots.
Complete sh!thouse that disgraced the sport of boxing this weekend. Should have his licence revoked aswell as all his earnings. Utter utter shameless slob of a fighter. It's a shame his team didn't have the decency to let him take his 12 round beating. The judges and ref should have ignored the towel and extended it to 15 rnds or until medical intervention was required.
A total sh!thouse mate. Eddie Hearn done the same with Barker and he is another whanker. All PPV for mediocre bouts and gash fights not worth watching. Sky needs a boycott according to Big Abdul who works for them.
Middleweight who's too lazy to even make Super Middle anymore. Hope he retires as he's a decent pundit
Agree with you regarding the fact he hardly landed a punch and did not deserve the fight, but I disagree with the point about him being a bad commentator, he is actually very good. The other point about fact he never nearly won any of his fights v Abraham is nonsense, I like many had him winning the first fight (regardless who anyone had winning it you cant say it was not close). Lost second fight, I agreed with scorecards that night I had Abraham winning by four rounds.
Smith is a disgrace no doubt about it. But Ward should be embarrassed for choosing him as an opponent. I mean George/ Degale outclassed him when they were yougens
Hard enough for Brits to get takes seriously in the States but smith has just made a complete mockery of british boxing
Smith got offered a big payday nearing the end of his career, I've got no problems with that. Most people would do the same. Taking a fight where you know you are going to take a beating is a horrible feeling, knowing what's coming & that you are going to have to take it. His performance was very poor whatever the so called tactics were but that was his decision. We can all have opinions about tactics. What is inexcusable is the weight issue. For someone who could make middleweight relatively easily to get to the weigh in at that weight and in that shape was a disgrace. It made look Paul and Joe look very bad. Neither have been involved in not making weight before and will have done it 100s of times. To make a "mistake" simply does not add up. Unprofessional at best but disrespectful to the sport, the fans, and himself. Be interested in what he has to say about it on Ringside, or next time he's commentating. We can only take his word that it was a genuine mistake but with that Paul and Joe have really tarnished their reputation. I hope Sky have had a serious word with him about this and how he has treated the sport and the fans who ultimately pay Sky's wages. I like Paul but feel he has seriously let himself down.
Bit harsh. We have plenty of of guys going to the states and winning world titles. He went 9 rounds and showed heart and the weight was obviously tactical, and anyway even if it wasn't who cares at catchweight. No one wants to see boxers fail to make weight but this fight was a comeback for Ward and a payday for Smith, it had no other relevance whatsoever. And If anyone says Ward could've got him out sooner I never buy that ol' chestnut, cos if he could've he would've.
A few similarities between Smith and Macklin in that they're really good pundits and intelligent on the whole, but ever so slightly delusional about their own boxing ability.
