Just because it's being held in an 80,000 venue doesn't mean it has to sell out to make serious money. Leave the business side to the experts. I'm sure they could sell at least 50 - 60k with a good undercard and possibly sell out if they did a full press tour in the UK.

Well froch wanted it in the city grounds which with pitch would hold 40000,45000 and you would also be able to charge higher ticket prices as its frochs hometown and would be more of a demand

    Ward said no

Light heavyweight is too tough of a division for ward and ward doesn't seem to be a guy who wants a fight where he doesn't hold all the advantages

At the top level you have kovalev,Adonis , beterbeiv, all killers and would be big challenges for wars

You then have blue chip prospects like mekhontsev, gvodsyk, bivol etc

Basically ward doesn't want the challenges and I see him moving up to 175 when it looks more favourable for him

    Why now though?

He's said if he moves up from SMW, he won't go back.

GGG will have done all he can do at MW soon, and should be looking to move up. Then there's DeGale and the winner of Groves and Jack.

Personally, I hope Groves wins, fights DeGale in a big british fight, and then the winner fights Ward. That would be great.

I'm desperate for the Kovalev fight, but only when there's nothing left at SMW.

Thing is where would the winner of groves vs degale fight ward? The fight makes sense to happen in England but you know ward will want it in jokeland

If you think Ward/AA is a great fight (it was awful the first time), you know jack about the sport.

You just convince me more and more that you are a mod.

    Annoying, clueless tool.

GGG is ducking Ward because he is waiting to fight Cotto and Canelo...who are BOTH middleweights (FACT so stfu) and are the #3 and 4 money draws in the sport... 1 of which is "lineal" champion... But Ward is "smart" to stay at 168 where Froch is the only money fight and Ward already said he wasn't giving in to Frochs demands. Not to mention Ward already soundly beat him.

That is what passes as logic on these boards.

It'll be interesting. The winner of that fight would have two belts, so Hearn/Sauerland would have the upper hand in negotiations.

I think it's an exaggeration though to say that Ward would demand that it had to be in Oakland.

Ward needs to be staying at 168 if he can make it, that's where he's most comfortable.
