Khan V Porter

Would it be contested under the Greco-Roman or Freestyle rules? Porter is trained in both but I'm unaware of Amir's wrestling pedigree.

 

Khan vs Broner would be competitive.

Current Khan Vs Current Porter - hard to say. Porter only has success bum rushing. He won't do anything to Khan from the outside...

Those in bold have great competitive fights between one another - and they all know it. Which is why they are failing to fight one another.

 

Seriously guys? Porter Drew with Diaz! He's not that good. He just proved how bad Adrien Broner is.

That fight shouldn't be looked at so hard. Diaz' style has given top fighters fits......unless your name ith Keith ONE TIME Thurman and you play a really cool flute for birds and nature....Then you have no problems.

To beat Porter, you have to be able to throw something that gets his respect. He's not a very skilled fighter but is such a good athlete and so physically strong that he can get inside on his opponents very quickly and impose his will. Kell Brook was able to beat him(in a close fight) because he was allowed to tie up Porter a lot in the early going(less than Broner, but still quite a bit) and landed hard counters that slowed Porter's aggression down as the fight went on, turning the fight into a boxing match, which does not suit Porter's limited skills. Khan doesn't have the power to do that and while Khan is fast, Porter's athleticism is such that even Khan's speed won't prevent Porter from closing in on him. Porter beats up and stops Khan.

 

There would be a stretcher involved, lets just leave it at that.

 

Khan would have a nightmare dealing with Porter's aggresion. He would panic and try to clinch, run, and push Porter's head down, just like Broner did. But, Porter is a little wreckless. His punches are not that accurate. And Broner showed you can put him on his butt if you catch him coming in. Khan lets his hands go more, has a better jab, and a longer reach than Broner. He's also stronger at 147 than Broner. So, he should have more success than Broner did. But, his chin will probably fail him if Porter lands a good shot. I'd pick Porter in this.

 

porter doesn't have much power, ok he beat paulie, but since this first 10 fights or so his ko % is low. If the ref lets khan get away with lots of holding he'll win on points imo,
