Wilder " Drug Testing Will Be A Big Deal For Povetkin"

    There is a good possibility that Wilder-Povetkin will head to a purse bid. Povetkin's promoter, Andrei Ryabinsky, is one of the few people who are capable of out-bidding Wilder's powerful manager/adviser, Al Haymon.

    Regardless of the setting, Wilder will demand a very strict drug testing protocol for the fight. In a recent interview, Wilder accused Povetkin of taking performance enhancing drugs .

    "When you are dealing with these others countries, some drugs are legal in these other countries and sometimes they know how to take things out [of a fighter's system to pass a drug test]. The drug testing will be a very big deal for me. I'm a clean fighter. I do everything by the books. I expect my opponent to do the same. It's a shame that we still have people in the sport who try to cheat their way to the top," Wilder told ******

    "People can really get hurt. We are in a business where a head is not supposed to get hit in the first place, but then people enhance their bodies to go along and do more things just to get a win or get on top. How you can live with yourself knowing that you're a cheater or took a needle and shot something in your ass or took something. How can you live with yourself and say 'I am the champ' but you took something. I wouldn't live with myself if I cheated or tampered with my body."

    No he doesn't. Povetkin had Olympic style testing for the Wlad fight. How many times did Wilder subject himself to Olympic tests in his pro career? Zero times.

    If Wilder wanted to set an example why wasn't there Olympic style testing for Wilder vs. Molina?

    Hell yes he does.

    Just look at the transformation (Body) that Povetkin went through in the past year.

    It's so blatant. Wilder should test that guy every day until the damn fight.

    Povetkin is a Olympic gold medalist, super heavyweight division and has never tested positive for roids, never......................the Olympics are very strict, yet Povetkin won the gold medal without any roids..............When did Wilder take the tests?

    Wilder won the bronze medal without any roids :D

    I believe this will no problem for Povetkin since he also had strict testing for the Wlad fight.

    Can't wait for this fight :bbb

    Wilder is a joke, a paper champ. He is a lot more suspicious, cause he start boxing very lately and its very hard to get mass and to be lean for such short period.
    I will agree on his point if he would be tested in Russia, while Povetkin being tested in America, to be fair.
    If both are tested in America it wont be fair, its obvious if he is on something they will cover it.

    He is following the example of Mayweather, accusing boxers of cheating when there is absolutely no evidence of them taking P.E.D's. It's the most shameful way of ducking fights imaginable.

    Thing is the Russians are going to win purse bids, the fight will be in Russia and they will call the shots. Anything wilder demands won't matter a damn. If his so strung up on testing and that he should get all to bid high and win purse bids then he can dictate terms

    To me this seems like a ready made 'throw the title in the move' his already getting his excuses in order
