Why? Groves has had one bad performance and suddenly he is dog ****? He has wins over Degale, Johnson, Paul Smith, and was robbed in the first Froch fight? Who has Callum beaten atm, even if he stops Rebrasse i would still pick Froch.
Well if you pay attention to this forum, one bad performance and according to most your a bum- that's why I'm suprised. And I don't think 'robbed' is the right terms to use in Groves v Froch. He had 3 and a half rounds to survive, got stopped early and earned a fortune in a rematch. If anything the ref did him a favor.
Me too, Groves has been poor for his standards recently, not even his biggest fan can dispute that. Groves at his best is probably second to Ward at super middleweight. But Groves is gun shy, lacking in ring confidence, perhaps like Broner, lots of talk outside of the ring but not much when it comes to fighting. I thought Smith would be favourite, granted he only has one good win on his record vs Sjekloca but he has done everything superbly well so far.
I am also very surprised this is very one sided. I really believe that Smith is the real deal and I think he beats Groves on points. Next fight needs to be Groves v Degale if Groves beats Jack later in the year.
Groves easy. Smith whacks hard to the body but that's about it. Looks very stiff and rigid when moving backwards or side to side. And very hittable. Let's see how he deals with Rebrasse first.
