Ya but you see how that turned out for Holmes. As for George Foreman, he had the shyt jabbed about of him for 10 rounds before landing that right hand on Moore. Besides, Ward is not blessed with that type of punching power. Lewis against Vitali when compared to Ward is not that long of a layoff. Its been almost 2 years now since ward last fought. Besides, Vitali was not held in high esteem after his quit job against Byrd. General consensus was that he was a privileged Eurobum with no heart that will simply fold when the pressure gets going. At least that's what Lewis thought (check his pre-fight interview before the fight on youtube). Like I said, these are all exceptions, not the norm.

If anything, Ward gets an inordinate amount of criticism. It's often by anti-American Eurobum supporters though.

Escape? Hes been getting mad **** for nearly 3 years now. It all started with Dawson moving down in weight. Then there was the injury induced inactivity, Kelly Pavlik, Ward´s request for an easy, overpriced tuneup and the Goosen court war.
Ward is scared to go down or up. He is in a tough spot. GGG below Kovalev above. All he can do is pray one of them loses so he has an excuse not to fight them......LOL bock bock bock...
It actually really started with the Kessler fight, and was greatly enhanced both when he said Bute needed to prove himself and than escalated further still with the Dawson situation you mentioned. Usually fighters receiving regular "hate" of this nature on forums is a sign of success, and can be viewed as a badge of honor to some extent. See Floyd, Golovkin, Wlad, etc. :smoke
Dawson immediately went back to his comfortable weight and got KTFO by Adonis in one and a loss to Tommy Karpency. You call that elite level win? Also, Dawson was badly drained for that fight. Ward simply beat Dawson(the reigning LHW champion) so bad that he made him QUIT which softened him up for Stevenson. It was a beating of epic proportion. To this day people still can't believe that destruction, that was the first and probably last time we got to see a PRIME Ward.
