:rofl What else did you expect from two guys ready for the slaughterhouse? Shamrock has no business being in the ring and Kimbo is the blueprint for how a boxer with no other skills can look horrible in a MMA ring.:deal Knowledgeable MMA fans gave this one a pass. Watch some of the eastern european or asian cards instead of just looking at 'Murica. Far more enjoyable:deal
Lol yeah, I didn't realise these guys were so old, as I said before I don't really follow or watch MMA, I used to watch PRIDE and K1, and I do VERY occasionally catch a UFC fight but that's it. Now I wish I didn't say all that **** about Shamrock.
Looked like a definite fixed fight to me. Ken snuck in a deep RNC with both hooks in, Slice doesn't know how to defend it. Then Ken just decides to give up on it for no reason, they scramble to the feet and then he goes down in a heap from the first grazing blow.
Bellator's main event 2.2 viewer rating is a whopping success considering the level these two geezers have fought at in their recent MMA outings. I'm guessing ol Kenny reeled in the WWE Universe's eye***** which would explain all these ridiculous cries of 'fixed fight.' lol BTW Has anyone here considered that the reason why Shamrock couldnt hold his choke is because he's a badly faded senior citizen grinding against a younger, more fit man who's about 30 lbs heavier? Old man Kenny simply wore himself out in a sport he shoulda gave up at least 15 years ago. .
U never did like Shamrock but I can definitely respect anyone that gets into any ring, especially @ the ripe old age of 51. It was so sad seeing the once agile "baddest man" hobble around, trying to take Kimbo down. I actually started cheering for the old guy and was laughing when he had secured the choke as another person watching along said Kimbo would run right through ken. Unfortunately ken was unable to completely lock his free arm and fatigue set in.
I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure you ought to have your hand behind the guy's neck, and not on the top of his head, to choke him out. Surely you want to press his neck into your choking arm?
Yes. And also if you have your hand on top of someones head, the person getting choked can grab that hand and escape. (Kimbo did not do that or even attempt to do it). I was taught to grab your shoulder, clavicle, or tricep, that way your opponent will have a hard time trying to separate the choke, and you use less muscle and more of the mechanics of your body to get the tap. It was not surprising to see Ken do that though, he's known to have an outdated oldschool way of training/learning, where it hasnt looked like he learned anything new since forever. Just look at ultimate fighter season where he coached. I believe hes considered the worst trainer in the shows existence.
Yeah, Ken looked to have that sunk in pretty good. Maybe Kimbo's compacted fro beard was stopping him from tightening it properly. That along with the way that Kimbo just gave up the take downs makes the fight look really suspicious.
