Prime Vargas or Clottey - who is the better fighter?

Vargas.

 

C levels seem to have no issue landing the occasional counter and an amount of good body shots on Clottey. In fact, Corrales landed a good amount of shots on Clottey from range, but was too small and throughly beaten otherwise.

If that's an indication of anything, it'd be that a prime Vargas would tear through him. He also lacks anything in the way of concussive power, as he's failed to stop C level fighters with marginal punch resistence in the past.

Not to mention, he has stamina related issue's and Vargas is quicker, an excellent body worker and prime had a great jaw that Clottey cannot do anything in the way cracking. Vargas could destroy him with technical pressure or simply use his underrated boxing skill to win every round by way of schooling, this is where Clottey stands in with a prime Fernando Vargas.

Are you out of your ****ing mind? First Ike, now Vargas? Not even a comparison. Vargas was 10 x the fighter Clottey is and would stop him within 5 rounds tops.

When someone says Clottey is a better fighter than Ike, and Vargas, they need to be disqualified, especially when they pick him to beat them both, along with every other current WW with the exception of Floyd.

it's way too early to compare these 2.
vargas was a very dangerous warrior in his day and the man you had to beat to take on the big boys. his oscar and tito fights are well worth a look (and competitive), but it's just way too early to compare them until we get clottey in a few years time.

i understand the comparison but let's try again in at least 5 years.

 

Lay off the pipe dude. Clottey is simply not that good, nor will he ever be truly elite.
