One does not watch Ward or Calzaghe enough to pick Calzaghe over Ward. Ward is all wrong for Joe, he might even knock him down to one of the most lop sided decisions of an elite fighter.
I agree with the points about Ward, and Calzaghe will bring plenty of speed and volume to the table. However I don't like the way Joe wastes a lot of his punches, he found Hopkins very hard to land clean on in the earlier part of their fight and he's shown a level of inaccuracy in other fights too. I can see Ward replicating this but with a more successful offence than Hopkins and he won't gas as quickly, yes Joe adapted to Hopkins but Bernard was also gassing after the half way point. I wouldn't say Ward is a younger version of Hopkins, more that he has incorporated the style of an older Hopkins but with better footwork and speed. However I don't think Ward's right hand is as good as Bernard's or Floyd's and that could help Calzaghe being a southpaw but it wouldn't change my view on the outcome of the fight.
You call Ward a pot shotter and then accuse others of not knowing the sport You also call Ward a cowardatsch Ward is much better than Calzgahe, much better. Calzaghe has the most deluded, moronic and clueless fans of any fighter.
a side effect of Joes miraculous cure for fear of flying, that happened once the top americans had turned 40something.
Joe would never fight him in his prime he would not be an approved cherry pick ..He would have to wait for Ward to lose in order for him to challenge him..To much of a risk for him
ward outdid joes best win, that being joes 21st title fight, in his first ever title fght. theres no comparison.
Beating that Yank hype job Dawson doesn't prove anything. I mean Dawson best wins were against 100 year old men, and he was fighting them in his 20's.
