How fast do you rate Broner?

How fast do yall rate broner? The only fighter I think that might be faster at 147 is Khan. I'm talking pure speed, I think Broner looks slower sometimes because he is predictable, he telegraphs, and doesn't have the greatest timing so he wiffs. But the shots are quick, there is no denying that. I think he is faster than Terrence crawford and Peterson at 140 but I think he loses to both of them.

Also what is his reach really? I have seen it listed as low as 69" and as high as 71" I always thought it closer to 69".

He has fast hands. But seems not particularly fast in any other way.

I agree. He is flat footed, not fast in terms of reflexes either. Certainly seems like a slow learner as well. Very poor ring IQ.

Kind of baffling to me that someone with that much talent can be that bad.

I tend to agree. For a guy who generally has better power and handspeed than his opponents, he is reluctant to use them. Maybe a trainer can help, and implementthe right game plans for him to maximize his talents, but I doubt it. He seems not to have the will to fight and is easily discouraged from doing so.

Haha. Physically. I honestly think he may have the best hand speed but the slowest brain speed in from Lightweight to welter...

He's pretty quick when he has an opponent who stands off him and allows him to get off first. But he's not amazingly quick like Mayweather, Pac or Khan. Porter was beating him to the punch throughout the fight.

His talent is overrated too. He has fast hands, but like you said, the speed of his reflexes and feet/legs are a different story. Reflexes are more important than hand speed.

He's moderately but not exceptionally talented as far as world class fighters go.

Yeah, I think many people are used to seeing Floyd, and they think that if you have fast hands, you must have fast reflexes. Not true at all.

    On the uptake? Very slow.

    Hand speed? He's pretty fast.

Disagree. In terms of pure hand speed, he is quicker than all of those except for Khan.

Pac and Floyd have better timing. Floyd seems quicker than he really is because he can hit people from far away because he knows exactly when they are going to come in, and he knows his maximum range. This makes him appear quicker. Like you said in front of a punching bag broner looks quick. I think in terms of pure muscle contraction speed he is faster than any of those guys except for maybe Khan. He just doesn't move the way he should to set things up, and doesn't have a good concept of timing.

Sure, Pac, Floyd would easily beat broner to the punch as Porter did. But this is because they are quicker on the trigger. Good timing allows people to throw as soon as there target will be in range. Getting beat to the punch isn't purely speed.

Slow....takes him 30 seconds just to muster up the strength to throw 1 fast punch.

Khan, Floyd, Pac (perhaps not the most recent version) are all faster.

You can disagree, that's fine, your wrong but it's fine.

Broner has looked quick against weak opposition, sticking him in with slow fighters just makes him look faster than he really is. Mayweather and Pac have been in the ring with elites with fast hands and still looked fast.
