He went 1/1 with williams, though. Don't missunderstand me, I'm big fan of sergio, but I don't think he is as good as most of the people think. Yet, I loved all the fresh air that brought to boxing. Fresh style, funny and entertaining full of imagination. But sorry, I dont think he is hall of famer, for example.

Why do so many boxing fans, who know full well what a greedy cut-throat business the sport is, still think that boxing is like a bunch of kids in a schoolyard fight?

"Wow, he called him out! That must mean he really wants to fight him! That's where fights are made, through words and interviews!"

Sergio got very overrated with Max Kellerman's "super fighter" ****, and people having him #3 p4p behind Floyd and Manny and putting him in that category. There was a HUGE gap between those two ATGs and Martinez, a good fighter in a weak era/division.

perhaps his cable was not blocked. however, he waited years and years to fight Pac. don't care what others opinions are, Ive got one too. Pac did have an operation after the fight and unusual occurrences in camp which are consistent with having some thing wrong with a fighter. There is a reason why he didn't fight Sergio. what is it ? I believe one thing. what do others believe.

Yes because Floyds defence was nowhere near as good as Paul Williams

Winky never won the MW title off of Taylor.

It was a draw though, a robbery of sorts. Winky definitely edged it.

He could of been undisputed at both JMW and MW.

No. People love to make **** up.

    Out of Winky's Promoter mouth

"As of right now, it's no deal - they changed the money on me at the last second," said promoter Gary Shaw, who said he was close to finalizing the fight when he walked into Top Rank and Bob Arum's office Thursday.

But within seconds, he said, the deal evaporated.

"I walked in, I told him: "I believe we have a deal,' " Shaw said. "And Bob said, "so it's a deal - 55-45 (money split)'.

"I said, "Bob, that was never, ever discussed, no deal' and that was that."

The day before, Shaw said he and Arum had agreed to a 50-50 purse split as well as other requests from Mayweather's camp. He added that Wright adviser Jim Wilkes and Don King, who has an option on Wright's next fight, agreed as well.

According to Shaw, however, Arum said he did not remember that conversation. Arum was unavailable for comment.

Shaw and Arum were in Las Vegas to promote the Oct. 8 rematch between Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo. Shaw promotes Corrales; Arum promotes Castillo.

"There were requests made by Floyd Mayweather, we laid it out and I think they were fair requests," Arum told maxboxing.com. "Gary rejected them, so there's no fight. We have to sit with Floyd and we'll figure out (what we do next). Maybe (Antonio) Margarito. It's unfortunate as far as the Winky Wright fight, but it's not going to happen."

While Shaw said he agreed with just about all of the demands from the Mayweather team, principally regarding weight, he doesn't think the Detroit fighter, aformer Olympian, was behind the breakdown.

"I think it's Arum," Shaw said. "When Floyd normally calls someone out, he's serious about fighting them."

In all actuality it was Arum up to his usual tricks. He didnt want floyd to fight wright just like he didnt want him to fight DLH, Cotto or Hatton. He wanted floyd to fight Marg. Arum blocked alot of fights because he wanted to keep it in house.

Idiots pretty much. They really think that guys who actually fight for a living are scared to fight. They dont realize how stupid it makes them sound.

Because Floyd was in need of a big name but then he got the Oscar fight which changed everything and got him the exposure he needed.

This, exactly. Cotto would've wrecked any version of Martinez. He's not on that level.

    Simple.

He surmised (possibly correctly) that he could beat Winky.

And he surmised (probably correctly) that he couldn't beat Sergio.
