Both have fought Povetkin before, and would love nothing more than beating each other to set up a lucrative rematch before reaching their half-life (or in the case of Chagaev, his ¾-life). Neither is ever in a hurry to get anywhere by temperament, nor able to physically. This would be tortoise versus tortoise and neither would be too hard for the other to find with plenty of leather. I get the sense this would be enjoyable. Huck is younger and perhaps carries more gas in his tank - and outperformed Chagaev in their respective tangles with Povetkin - but he does struggle with southpaws (Arslan, Lebedev) and has a much lower ring IQ. Both have excellent chins and while they are heavy-handed neither is an explosive puncher, so this has the making of a nonstop 12-round phone booth affair. :bbb
Chagaev IN SHAPE has a good shot. Today he proved what I had been saying all along. Sure Pianeta may be limited, but he's never been blown out like that before. Chagaev still has talent, but he's been letting it go to waste all these year. He needs to lose 20-25 lbs, get a good team behind him and I can maybe see him reemerging as a top 10 heavyweight/top contender.
Really? He does have a ***** of a time with lefties anywhere near world class tier...only exception being Rossi, who isn't half as good as old, diminished Chagaev.
Chagaev performed well today but he is still somewhat fat (22 lbs more than in 2009 when he fought Klitschko) and I guess he would gas after a couple of rounds against Huck. Huck UD
Huck said he wanted to go return to HW last year. A fight against Chagaev is his chance to become a HW champion!
