    Congrats to him.

It's sad to see him go, but he was never going to top his last win.

It's been a breath of fresh air to have a fighter (and especially a brit on the world stage) take on ALL comers ALL OVER THE WORLD.

You cannot deny what he has achieved in his career and the calibre of opponents he has fought. Fair play.

But can he do his new job in front of 3000 on a cold November night in Hull?

Top class! Would love to see him carry on fighting but all good things come to an end, hope he doesn't decide to come out of retirement in a few years. True professional and is the perfect example to anyone of how to live the life as a boxer outside the ring too.

Great Champion, great work ethic and heart and was a very good technical boxer, as he had a great boxing brain. Look at way he teed Groves up for finish. Wiah him a very happy retirement, True Legend.

Great now Calzaghe and Froch can both come out of retirement like Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Like him or dislike him, he's been a credit to boxing and a proper professional.

Never took the easy road, fought in his opponents back yards, went into fights as the underdog and earned every penny.

Retirement is the correct decision, if the fire's not there then don't fight - he hasn't got anything left to prove and he's well off financially with a young family.

I think going the GG path it's scared him into retirement..

You woulda thought he woulda rematched Ward straight away like Kessler and then slug it out with Groves and Degale for bragging rights.

But he went against GG and landed a monster punch after 10 rounds outboxed.

At least we can look forward to Groves/Degale/Froch/Calzaghe clashing in the future.. when Floyd Mayweather comes out of retirement.

    Probably the right decision.
He's got plenty of money. No point going after more if you're just going to get your brains mashed in.
