If Algieri or Khan had any power they would be world class

    Anybody else think this? Both have skill. Both are fast, especially Khan. Both have good stamina. Algieri landed some pretty good shots on Khan and even walked him down in their fight. But he still couldn't crack Khan's suspect chin.

    I think Algieri if didn't punch like a flyweight would be a top fighter.

    If Khan didn't have the compulsion to fight down to his opponents level he could be elite. That chin is sh*t though.

    Algieri would be, but Khan still got dat chin.....so no for him.

    Everytime I watch Algieri all I can think of is he's actually really good. He just has no punch at all. None.

    They are world-class.

    Khan is a top welterweight and Algieri is a top 10 light welterweight.

    Tall fighters like Algeri, esp being a fitness expert and being in tip top shape, has great potential to grow and settle comfortably in higher weight classes. I get the feeling we haven't seen the best of Algeri yet. Might actually be a better 147lber than 140lber, he had Khan fighting scared after tasting Algeri's power. If Algeri sat on his punches alittle more, focused on timing them, and setting them up correctly, he'd be another Maravilla, slickish type boxer that HAD a soft touch, but developed big power over time. Algeri is smart, prime, and has the size to do it. I think the Khan fight, even in a close loss, should be a confidence booster for him. No one really gave him much of a chance, yet almost upset Khan.

    Khan has some pop in his punches as well. Not a power puncher by any means, but he has enough pop to keep guys honest.

    Styles make fights.
    Amir Khan was not going to put on a highly impressive performance over Algieri - someone who's bigger and taller than him. Khan won on the basis of his pure boxing ability. Don't forget Algieri had an even fight with Provodnikov.

    Khan vs Mayweather will be a more exciting fight.

    If Khan slowed down to get the power he'd lose his speed though wouldn't he? Look what happened to Bradley trying to knock Pacquiao out, didn't work and he got caught countless times.
