What is even worse is that Rosario's child was ringside for the whole bout...

    [Edit]Somewhat ironically I noticed I stole Thread Stealer's initial thought! ;)

Calzaghe vs Lacy, Joe ruined him and the beating he gave him left him a shell of a fighter.

Toney v Iran Barkley. Shots bouncing off Iran it was crazy.

Kovalev killed a fighter early in his career Roman Simakov. The referee and Romans corner were a disgrace the guy was bashed from pillar to post and they did nothing. Worst beating ive seen the guys head was on a swivel and they let kovalev tee off round after round.

    GGG v Ouma

Calzaghe - Lacy is a lock.
    Haughen - Chavez
I don't think JCC - Taylor is a beatdown as I reckon Taylor was up for 5 of the first 6 rounds, it was only after 6 that Chavez started to leather him...and even then it wasn't a beatdown, it was a calculated dismantling.

That fight definitely counts, it's one of those fights where even though a fighter is winning you can see he's getting beat up and giving his everything just to keep the other man off him. Chavez was slowly destroying him physically and mentally as a fighter, that fight IMO could have so easily ended in tragedy.

Some very good picks. Most the good ones have been taken already, so I'll offer up the Wilfredo Gomez - Derek Holmes fight. Far from the worst beatdown I've ever seen, but nonetheless Holmes took a beating and was down six or seven times in all.
It had long ceased to become a fight by the last knockdown and it could have been stopped much earlier.

Another one-sided shellacking was the one Lloyd Honeyghan took from Mark Breland. Honeyghan was given a real thrashing that evening.

In 1953 featherweight Tommy Collins somehow got a title shot at lightweight against the formidable Jimmy Carter. Talk about a beatdown. He was down 10 times before it was stopped in 4 rounds.

Remember John Garfield (Joe Rein) who used to post on here before he left us (RIP)? He was ringside for Chavez-Taylor, he said Richard Steele was exactly right stopping that fight, he said Meldrick Taylor was a dead man walking in that final round.
