Out of his mind. Danny was getting walked down in the 2nd half of that fight. He was fortunate to walk away with the w.
He's lucky Lamont didn't start with that strategy early. Danny was clearly bothered by it. I think Peterson takes him in a rematch if they were to fight again. Just IMO.
[yt]kFvpahaFW6o[/yt] Oh, Angel also accused Peterson of being on something... And that the commentators were biased.
Agreed. I give Peterson a lot of credit for his adaptability; He switched up vs Garcia, switched up vs Khan, and had success both times. For the life of me though, I don't know why he went on so long with the dancing around in the first half of the Garcia fight. I can understand the idea of letting Garcia wear himself out a bit, but he waited entirely too long. When he started letting go, he was really hurting Garcia.
We're of one mind on this one. At the very least, I have no idea why his corner didn't step in sooner and tell him "we need to make a change, you're losing too many rounds." He basically gave away the first half of that fight and STILL almost won.
He was putting on an absolute clinic from the outside. He lost 2 close rds, both of which he dropped his work rate and let Danny GIFT Garcia steal em on my card. Rest of the fight was like watching Lara vs Trout
Angel is a passionate father, and as a passionate father myself, I'd defend my sons to my death. Angel is wrong, but I understand WHY he says these things. He's too emotionally invested to be giving his opinion.
So you'll defend something to death, especially if you were emotionally invested? I doubt that will shock any posters here
I don't remember it like that. Peterson did far too much dancing and trying to stay away than landing anything real. I don't remember how I had it scored thru the 1st half, but I had Garcia ahead. When Peterson switched it on though, he showed he was clearly better on the night.
