What would be the general consensus here if Ward demanded a 171.5 lb CW for Kovalev?

Sergey looks like he can go a little lower, like 173. But I'd prefer they s**** at 175 after Ward has a tuneup at the full 175 limit.

Yes, Sergey could shave off 2 pounds, but why would he ? He doesn't need Ward.

Pacquiao's first fight at 126 was Barrera. His first fight at 130 was Morales.

I think Leonard's fight fight at 160 was Hagler and coming off cocaine. Was Hearn's fight fight at 160 against Hagler too.

Tune ups have never been needed IMO.

Not acceptable. If not ready to move up in weight, then don't, but don't ask the bigger man to come down, if you are calling him out specifically.

Ward isn't the draw compared to Kovalev and Kovalev has beaten some top level guys at Light Heavy so Ward would have no leverage to ask for a catchweight in the first place.

GGG is the draw against Ward so he has that leverage but as he's finding it very difficult to fight big names and claiming everyone is ducking him, trying to force the most likely name opponent he can fight into a catchweight looks bad.

As to catchweights themselves, for any title fight, a catchweight is terrible. Otherwise, I still think they are bad, boxing has plenty of weight classes, but can tolerate them for a non-title affair.

Acceptable as long as it's a non title fight.

Ward is not an A-side to demand cw
Ward is a BIG SMW, him moving up to 175 is no big deal

See the difference now cisco fruit?

Absolutely not. Ward was just non-active for years. Who is he again? He isn't in the position to make those kind of demands.

Boxing has strict wieght limits. Only internet trolls and people who DKSAB would support catch weight fights. If a fighter is a ***** enough to demand a catch weight he should not be fighting at all.

Looks to me like the resident GolovIdiots aren't in favor of a 171.5lb catchweight for a Ward/Kovalev fight. So why are you idiots ok with a 164 catchweight for Ward/Bumlovekin? You nut huggers should try being consistent with your logic...

It's been explained, you just refuse to accept reality.
