This matchup could make for a mouthwatering fight. We all heard shane mcg stating that carl might have to move up as he struggled to make the weight last weekend. I know thats the default excuse we hear when any decent fighter has a bad bout but lets just take it as a real possibility. We all know that stylez make fights. carl brings a good range of boxing skills and ability into this bout he can box off the back foot as well moving forward in carefull thought out attacks and has decent accurate punches with a bit of sting in em when he needs to Selby use good lateral movement as we all know. He likes to catch opponents on the way in also he counters well. I dont see him as a power puncher and neither is he crisp and accurTe instead he has a good flow to his punches and i think he can be heavy handed Selby is big at the weight so i could see him having a bit of an advantage size wise Im not convinced that selby stays composed for 12 rds i think he blows faster than carl and i could see frampton winning this on pts with selbz taking the early rds What does anyone else think?
as much as i rate frampton, i rate selby higher!! i think selby would outpoint carl using his extra dimensions to keep frampton at bay!!
I do see ur point thats why i give selbz the early rds. Can he do it enough to steal 7rds im not so sure. Frampton isnt gradovich or brunker pressuring in straight lines i think carl has fast enough footwork to confuse selby. Very close fight though imo
I would love to see this fight, probably one of the best fight that can be made in boxing. I personally believe that Selby wins this by UD. I think he has too much skill and class for Frampton personally and has quite sizeable physical advantages.
Selby would win comfortably. A better boxer than Carl and also has size on his side. A move up the weights would be a bad decision for Frampton, can't see who out of the top fightèrs he'd beat.
Great potential fight that could be made but I'd have to go for Selby UD. The size advantage would be telling. Anyway, at 5'4 and a short reach, I think it would be a mistake for Frampton to move up to 126lbs. As much as I like him, I don't reckon he'd be able to hang with the top fighters at featherweight (Loma, GRJ, Walters if he stays at 126) Only upside to moving up is making a lot of money vs Haymon's stable fighters (LSC, Mares etc), and even then I'm not sure it would be bigger and more paying than a potential Quigg-Frampton fight.
Selby all day, his enjoys a big size advantage over Frampton and will use it, his also a very good boxer Frampton has no business moving up from 122
