Did you hear the rumours that Manny apparently didn't want Wlad to face Chisora?

 

It's just circumstances though.

Wlad has a deep resume based on great longeveity, but again, Vitali retired for 4 years (while he was normally fighting twice per year) and he retired for good 3 years ago.

Under different circumstances, I've no doubt that things would look very different.

Why is Pulev a big name?

As yet, Tyson Fury hasn't done a great deal.

Again, Fury is still unproven. Sam Peter after a 4 year lay off was probably a bigger/tougher fight than Fury.

No but it wouldn't surprise me.. Funny how most anyone with half a heart beat at the time preferred a fight with wlad over Vitali figuring he was the lesser risk to getting pummeled.

Vitali would have beaten Wlad h2h, no doubt in my mind about that.

Plus Vitali was avoided, far more so than Wlad & this hurts his resume.

Vitali had a far more diverse attack and he also had an iron jaw line. Wlad in comparison has a very straight forward and limited attack and his chin is average at best.

His retirement definitely hurt his resume whilst it enhanced Wlad's.

 

Most fans of both see it this way.

Wlad has the greater resume of wins, Vitali was the better head to head fighter.

While they never fought or should have fought, you can say Vitali had a much easier time with Sanders, Purity, and Peter.

Byrd who fought both said Vitaii was the better, and Vitali was fighting with a torn shoulder in that fight, and well in the lead until the arm went dead.

Vitali retire to purse politics, and he's currently the Major of Kiev.

Had Vitali not taken 3-4 years off, he likely has 5-7 more title defenses.

Rahman, Ruiz, Tua, Brewster, Maskaev and others ranked from 2005-2008 could have been his title opponents.

 

You are right on the first point, but I am not sold on the second.

I would say that Vitally was the better head to head fighter, up until he retired after the Williams fight.

From that point onward, I would say Wlad all the way.

Mr. Haye appeared to be better suited to ending Mr. Wladimir Klitschko's reign. It'd have been a calculated move from that devious SOB to trick us into buying it.
