Is Fernado Vargas the only boxer who was completely shot at age 28?

kirk, didn't he leave Bloodworth around that same time, too?

I know he looked to be in peak form when he was working with Roger, and I never remember him looking the same after Roger - although I can't remember when (or why) they parted ways?

I am pretty sure he was with Bloodworth when he faced Tito.

Vargas is probably the most dramatic example of a genuine young talent who became shot early.

Some people said he was too "green" to face Tito in 2000. Perhaps. But I believe he started the fight WAAAY overconfident in his ability to take Trinidad“s punches. He just couldn“t believe Tito was THAT DEVASTATING as a puncher. He paid the price for that.

Matthew Saad Muhammad was totally shot by the age of 28. Basically 13 of his 16 losses came after he turned 28. (One came three weeks before he turned 28.)

Mike's issues were more mentl the dixipline Tyson under Cus and Rooney was a much diffrent Tyson when he got with King. He relied on what he leaernd and intimidtation but he stopped putting in the work that he use to and didn't train as hard

This is who immediately came to mind. Granted he had bad eye but Trinidad put it on him pretty thick.

Davey Moore. That Duran fight messed him up and he went downhill quickly. Moore was very good despite his lack of experience as a pro. Ayub Kalule was a good fighter and Moore stopped him in just his 11th pro fight.

He died at 28 when he was working on his car and got ran over by it. Another tragic ending for a fighter of the same name.

You don't know what your talking about. You can throw combinations and look cute doing it, when the fighter your throwing the combinations at won't hit back. When Tyson fought solid guys, even if he won, the combination punching and head movement was not there (Razor Ruddock). When your fighting a bum, you can look good. It wasn't skill deterioration, it was competition.

He did most of his combination punching and head movement when he was like 19 or 20, when he stepped up in competition he threw 1 punch at a time.
