I have it. Johnson handled McVey easily. Looks like the Flynn fight with Johnson controlling McVey in the clinches and smiling to the audience.
Johnson seemed like he was just so much better than everyone of that era. Even a fight with Langford in 1910 would have ended badly for Sam, Johnson was too tall too big too strong too skilled
I think that is because he was better than everyone. It is often forgotten that he actually fought and dominated everyone, once he hit his top form! That includes Lanford, McVey, etc even if they could have earned rematches, it was not from their performances against Johnson. Arguably even willard at least for a long time. In fact, Jack Johnson may very well have been the greatest figthers ever. Throw Muhammed Ali into the ring in Jacks place, and he might have done a little better early on in his career, but no way does he replicate the longevity. Johnson went on a 10 year unbeaten streak at the time that Ali was struggling to draw with Berbick. I think he is vastly underated.
We have a confirmation. The poster McVey once again is caught with his foot in his mouth. Circa 1909-1912 for the sparring correct? One thing I'd like to see is Sam McVey's skill level as I was disappointed in his effort vs. Battling Jim. To be truthful Battling Jim has the better in the footage I own. If Sam Mcvey looks like Flynn, he's terrible. Out of curiosity, how much taller is Johnson. Most of us have seen their photo in the ring, and Johnson looks 3-4" taller. Possibly McVey's height is a tad exaggerated?

Thank you. Is this the sparring leading up to the Willard fight? If so, perhaps McVey was there to help Jack out, not impress. Sam McVey was in Johnson's corner for the Willard fight.
Will you post primary source that gives details of Jeffries koing Dunkhorst in sparring which you've stated I'm not irked by you, I just despise you because you are a coward and a liar.BTW I'm posting a new thread on Jeffries.
