He dealt with and fought those fighters of his time. I think it is ridiculous to compare fighters then to now.

 

This is rediculous, the problem isn't Ali, the problem is what you view as important for a boxer.

Ali's record speaks for itself, Frazier x2, Liston x2, Foreman, Patterson x2, and on and on and on.

Foreman proved just how "improved" the HW division is now. Its a simple numbers game, there were a ton more fighters in Ali's day, therefore there were a ton more talented fighters.

 

Yea, theres no way Ali could possibly do what Lamon ****ing Brewster did.

Ali was one of the greatest boxers of all time, both inside and outside the ring. Nobody but Sugar Ray Robinson really rivals Ali in terms of social importance to their era (Joe Louis, too).

Ali had the style, grace, intelligence, speed, coordination, balance, timing to take ANY Heavyweight that ever lived. He had a chin, too. That's my opinion of the matter.

 

he was puffy, slow and kinda fat that night if you remember. and she peppered the guy for the entire fight with every punch he wanted to land. he went down on a fluke and finished out the fight just fine. is he the most perfectly great fighter ever? no. but probably the greatest heavyweight but obviously not unbeatable

Ali could no more K.O. Wlad with a quick right than could Chris Byrd.
Only very strong punchers ever even hurt Wlad let alone K.Oed him.
Ali was always very candid in interviews about his lack of punching
power and envied powerpunchers like Foreman. Ali would probably
find a way to outbox Wlad over twelve grueling rounds but would
never K.O. him. Wlad would be the one who might get the lucky
K.O. Wlad remains the most underestimated heavyweight fighter
maybe of all time. Once he slaughters the 6' 6 inch Thompson next
he will again receive no respect.
