I read these boards on a daily basis and whenever Mayweather's name is mentioned you hear these LAMES use the word DUCKING when discussing whom Mayweather has fought and hasnt fought. I never hear anyone elses name thrown around with the word DUCKING. Is Mayweather only held to this standard? I recall people saying Roy Jones DUCKED Darius Michelob Genuwine Draft or whatever the hell is name is when in reality Darius DUCKED Roy Jones by not wanting to come to the states to face the P4P# 1 at the time & Current All Time Great Roy Jones Jr.

How can Mayweather be cosidered DUCKING Cotto when Bob Arum has never even discussed a fight with HBO nor has he sent an offer to Mayweather. How is Mayweather avoiding Cotto when Bob Arum has Cotto's schedule wrapped up for the rest of the year??

Mayweather had a successful amateur career of 84-6 and his proffesional record is 39-0....I think its safe to say that he isnt afraid to fight anyone..

Early next year, we will have one of the biggest, most lucrative welterweight unification championships ever when undefeated champion/household name Floyd Mayweather Jr. takes on the fellow undefeated champion/vicious, hungry Miguel Cotto.

Do the haters honestly believe that this fight would be that big of a deal ($$$) if the fight happened 2 months ago, tomorrow, or 4 months from now??

Of course not. But because boxing is a big money business for the highly successful fighters, this is how it will play out. Bob Arum knows this, Floyd Mayweather knows this, Miguel Cotto knows this, I know this, when is it going to sink in to the haters' heads?

I WONDER WHAT KIND OF STATEMENT COULD HE POSSIBLY MAKE BY KOING HIM. MAYBE YOU SHOULD THINK WHAT STATEMENT IS MAYWEATHER GOING TO MAKE TO THE FANS IF HE DOESNT KNOCK HIM OUT! HE WOULD NEED A BRUTAL 1ST OR 2ND RD. TKO IN ORDER TO LOOK GOOD AGAINST A VERY OLD DLH.

I don't think Mayweather is ducking Cotto in the sense that he is running scared; Mayweather will believe in his head that there is no one who can touch him in and around his weight (he might be right!)

He could be "ducking" him in the sense that Cotto-Mayweather seems to be the fight every boxing fan wants to see, but Mayweather would rather avoid Cotto in favour of more lucrative bouts (money-wise) that would be an easier nights work for him.

Of course he could be letting the fight simmer for a while, until it becomes even bigger.

What a load of complete trash. When Mayweather called out Hatton didn't Margarito already lose to Paul Williams?, Cotto you say?, wasn't Cotto busy fighting top and hungry prime opponents like Judah, Gomez and Branco?
Please don't make it sound like those guys only fought prime A class fighters, they have their shares of bums as well and FAR MORE than Mayweather.
