What route would you take for Luke Campbell to become world champ in a year?

Eddie Hearn mentioned that this time next year he wants Luke Campbell to fight for a world title. Realistically that's maybe 2 or 3 fights away. Who would you match him with to get him ready? :think

I'd have him fight Ricky Burns first, who is past his best but has enough staying power to take Campbell the 12 rounds and enough experience to give him something to think about.

Then I'd move him onto Burns conqueror and top rated WBC challenger Dejan Zlaticanin

Then I think he'd be ready to face the WBC champion (currently Linares but hopefully Mitchell gets a rematch in the meantime).

Wont put him in with Ricky Burns as its high risk low reward , plus i think thats too much of a step up to go from coyle to burns . Burns would in my opinion beat any lightweight in this country .

Would put him down the WBA route i mean lets be honest Perez didnt look great against crolla . If crolla wins the rematch your campbell v crolla for WBA belt or maybe campbell v mathews if derry gets his chance after crolla perez much easier route

    take the kell brook route

fight a bunch of tomato cans in UK.... grow a pair and go to america to fight for a title (hopefully win, fingerts crossed)....bring title back to UK and continue to build padded record and continue to fight/hide in UK

I'd put him in with Zlaticanin straightaway personally, whose coming off an impressive win himself over Redkach, but is really no great shake. If Campbell is who everyone thinks he is, he should dispose of Dejan comfortably. That fight will probably be made sooner rather than later for the mandatory shot at Linares.

I think Hearns plan is to force Linares to defend it against Luke by making Campbell mando, but I don't think he will be forced to defend for quite some time yet.

He said he wants Luke to go straight from a final eliminator into the title fight rather than having a fight in the meantime and risking his shot.

I would stick him in with Zlaticaan next as per WBC route as somebody else said - if he isnt available straight away then I guess beating up a shot Burns would be bareable In the Interim.

27 is still young. He had to take time out too due to his personal life.

Or he could take the recent enough Amir Khan route

A lot easier to be honest, lose back to back fights in the second one get knocked the f*** out, then call out the best fighter on the planet for over two years deep down knowing full well you don't deserve the fight or payday while at the same time fighting non punching opponents to protect your brittle whiskers from being exposed again.

Continue to call out the best fighter planet in every interview while not having fought a genuine top 10 opponent in over 3 years then accuse said fighter of then ducking you when you get ignored.

Also get offered a potentially huge PPV world title domestic showdown with a bitter rival, make excuse after excuse for the fight not to happen, keep moving the goal posts and use the fact because you are chasing the best fighter on the planet you don't need it. when you don't get the big payday and that's confirmed still stick to the same excuses, tell your rival to go and beat fighters you are too frightened to face to try and deflect any attention away from yourself.

Finally Become almost irrelevant, hold no titles, have no big fights on the horizon and put yourself in a position where you have no choice to fight a very solid top 10 fighter for far less money than you was expecting from a clash with the P4P number one because you yourself have said you are on that level so anything other than a top opponent in your next fight and you look a complete fool.

    It's a sound route :good
