The most ridiculously biased tripe I have ever read in relation to Fullmer. Talk about having on rose colored goggle in relation to him. Jesus. I have to wonder if youve even seen any of these fights.

Robbed against who? Humez? They didnt even fight in Spain. I have both Humez fights. He wasnt robbed and had his hands full in the second fight as well on his home turf. In the first fight he was dropped and hurt badly twice and had his nose broken, the first knockdown he got dropped, stood up, and then took a knee again because he was so wobbly. The bell saved him that time. The second time he was on the ropes eating punch after punch after punch without firing back and took a knee to clear his head. That was not a robbery and if youd seen it youd know that. In the second fight Scholz ate lefts and rights like they were doritos. That fight was very close until he finally got through to Humez and hurt him prompting Humez to turn his back and concede. We are talking solely about his accomplishments at MW not at LHW and even then who were the big names he beat there and what are his big accomplishments that would place him all time top 50? He beat Mueller, big deal. So did 26 others and another 14 drew with him including being stopped 17 times. Sorry but when your biggest win at MW is beating Humez in his last fight then you really havent done much in the division. In fact Humez should rank higher at MW than Scholz.

Uhhh, all of those guys beat WAY better opposition at MW than Scholz. I say again, when you two biggest wins are Mueller and Humez you need not apply for greatness at MW. Who gives a **** about Mueller. He lost to every good fighter he fought, usually by KO. A prime Scholz got his ass handed to him by an aging Humez who had been dominated in his prime Turpin, knocked out by fringe contender Ernie Durando, and beaten handily by Fullmer, in addition to losing to Tiger Jones. Where do those guys rank in relation to Scholz at MW??

Heres a handy comparison for you:

    Charles at MW beat:
    Charlie Burley twice
    Teddy Yarosz
    Anton Christoforidis
    Jose Basora

    Overlin at MW beat:
    Charles
    Fred Apostoli
    Allan Matthews
    Ceferino Garcia
    Steve Belloise twice
    Al Hostak

    Freddie Apostoli at MW beat:
    Freddie Steele
    Georgie Abrams
    Young Corbett 3
Marcel Thil (a better fighter than Humez ever dreamed of)
    Solly Krieger twice
    Lou Broulliard
    Babe Risko

Even when those guys were past their primes in those fights they were better than Humez and Mueller ever hoped to be.

    Scholz at MW beat:
    Humez
    Mueller
After that his competition drops WAY off and his next best wins are probably
    Wahlers
    Drille

Yeah, pretty anemic and you want that guy rated in the top 50 of the deepest division in history. Journeyman have strung together two better wins in their entire careers than Humez and Mueller.

And for the record if you had read his post you would have seen he didnt rate Langford and Walcott, hence the "close but no cigar."

And how the hell could Papp be top 15? He MIGHT have amounted to something had he been allowed to fight for the title but at 38 and having fought fringe contenders at best and plagued by injuries he might also have just been a protected European fighter. He certainly doesnt have the resume to be considered top 15 all time MW. What was his best win? Annex? Drille? Randy Sandy? Ralph Jones? Even the older Giardello that he was slated to get a title shot against would have been a massive step up for him in class and Giardello had a horrible style/size matchup for Papp. The problem with trying to rate Papp is that you can only do it on potential, not on his record.

Joey Giardello said Fullmer was the dirtiest fighter he ever fought and he despised him because of it.

Reggie Johnson and Vince Dundee don't below in the 50 at all imo. Sands is better than either.

    Jimmy Slattery beat, Stribling.Rosenbloom, Delaney,Todd.
    Dave Shade beat, Henneberry,Slattery,Gainer,Jeby,Todd, Moody,Hood,Colima.

Slattery & Shade are at least as good as Overlin at 160lbs imo Turpin's resume is pretty thin too.

Good list though, I'm just ruminating here.

Which world class middles did Papp beat to justify this ranking?

Attacking Hopkins resume does not improve Papp's.
Now ,do you want to answer the question?

And unlike you Ive actually seen Scholz-Humez 1. Humez kicked his ass, dropped him twice, and won convincingly despite you trying to paint it as a gift decision. As I said, Humez, who wasnt even world class, kicked his ass and he split two fights with him, the best fighter he managed to beat. How does that qualify him for a place among the top 50 in the deepest division ever?

The European championship wasnt **** then and isnt **** now.

And who the **** is Christiansan?? Tony Demarco knocked him out easily, should he be on this list too (even though he was only a WW)? Olle Bengston knocked him out as well. Where is he on your top MW list? I dont know, Im having trouble figuring out how a late round stoppage over a regional welterweight champion qualifies Scholz for such a high ranking in your estimation.
