he doesnt fight the full 3 minutes of every round, hes flat footed... a change in trainer might help him as that father son duo are over matched against great trainers

Ok..interesting to see diferent point of views..
IMO-a great fighter doesnt have to fight the full 3 min..of EVERY round..he has to pace himself ..&
..in the back of his mind hes gotta always think that theres a possibility the fight might go the distance...and dont waste more energy than is needed...most times the most power is generated when feet are solid on the canvas(flat footed)..thats my opinion..
..yes..i agree with you about father son.relationship..
That usually doesnt end right..i think its better for the father to be with him..but more on the side line, and let the trainer and manager do their thing..
    ..
    Thnks

its not that hes pacing himself... he literally takes breaks and does nothing for 1-1.5 mins a round. There is a difference between pacing yourself and doing nothing

i know that you get more power when flat footed, he is just flat footed all the time.

And the father son thing its not this father training him, but his trainers are a father son duo and they are ok but no where near world class

What, exactly, qualifies you to express those opinions? They are not world class? You know that....how? You know you get more power flat footed? How do you know that? Can you tell me the difference between being flat footed and not? As it relates to punching power? As it has to do with any ****ing thing?

Demps -ive heard of mandatory rematch in contracts-
is it a good idea (in a big fight)for the fighter to try to get a mandatory rematch?..why would the winning fighter want to fight the losing guy again?.and risk losing the second time around..
.especially if it was an upset.
..do you think it wouldve been a good idea in Jesus Chavez(him getting a mandatory rematch) vs Erik Morales?

    ..
Let me anwser that..i know it was a question for jasper...
..sometimes just being around boxing..training in boxing gyms..watching lots of fights..and if you love boxing....thatll naturally give you knowledge.(..specially if you have an anltical mind)...
.cos of soo many years into it...you learn alot..
...difference between flat footed and not?....
If someone was to ask you to hit the heavy bag..with your HARDEST punch...would you hit it flat footed or would you be on your toes dancing around?...its just natural that when you throw a punch flat footed..the power of the punch comes from a solid place..plus..you can put alot more weight behind your punches when you use your feet planted solidly in the canvas-than delivering that punch with only your toes in contact with tha canvas..
    Thnkx greynotsoold..
    Thats just IMO.

If the fighter won the previous fite he can negotiate a higher purse for the rematch

Both parties have to agree to the rematch clause

Greed, bad management and worse promoter made a dream come true turn into a fighters worst nightmare. Florante "little Pacqiuoa" Condes, a hard punching 105pdr. Won the IBF 105 title only to lose it 10 months later by split decision. Condes went through hell in those 10 months. He had two managers, one a Puerto Rican the other a Filipino, and and an inexperienced American promoter. Each was fighting to maintain control, I am trying to be nice here believe me. The kid was promised so much and given so little, for his title shot he was promised 12k he got $3750.
I was called by the American promoter, to be his advisor for Condes' defense vs Mexican Raul Garcia, worst of all in Garcia's hometown. The purse was supposed to be 30k, (surprised at how low the purses are?). When I saw which way the wind was blowing I bowed out. I know the promoter got his chunk, the managers theirs and poor Condes got the manure end of the stick.
Inexperienced and money hungry managers and promoter ended what could have been a promising career, sad but it happens all the time.

Why don't we see top younger prospects facing each other?

Depends who the young prospects are and who is managing or promoting them. Usually it is not a matter of being afraid it is a money matter. Since this is professional boxing the manager and or the promoter have invested money on the prospect and hope to one day recoup some of what has been invested. Putting a prospect in with another prospect early in their career is just not worth it to the manager or the promoter. As an example Top Rank has two up and coming prospects at the same weight 140pds, Olympian Jose Carlos Ramirez, 15-0, 12ko's and Alex Saucedo, 19-0, 14ko's. Top Rank has invested a lot of money on both of them. Right now it doesn't make sense to make them fight cos the money wont be there. Both manager and promoter know that waiting until both are ready that the money will be there for that fight. The guys you see on the net calling out this guy or that guy, usually are guys that nobody cares to see, example Rigondeaux or Lara vs whoever, this is a money game if the fight is worth making it will be but at the right time.

What are somethings you look at to be interested in the fighters?
