Does anyone know if this is still going ahead? It is no longer shown on Boxrec!! This show looked nailed on to be a big success and finally bring pro boxing back to Edinburgh!! Debut's to 3 of Lochend boxing clubs top amateurs, Stephen Tiffany, Tommy Philbin and Lewis Benson. Brian Forsyth a former Light Heavyweight Scottish Champion and Scottish Internationalist. John Thain who has been very unlucky in 2 British title eliminators and maybe the nicest guy in boxing!! David Brophy, Billy Nelson's undefeated protoge! Stephen Simmons who was finally getting his homecoming fight too. Tickets would not be a problem with those guys on the bill so is it just a mistake on Boxrec's part or has this show been cancelled?
Assuming it's a mistake on Boxrec's part as MGM were still promoting the show on Instagram/Twitter this morning. Trying to arrange travel back up the road for this one as it should be a good nights worth of boxing.
Hey Davy is big Ross Henderson still on this show too? How is he settling into the pro ranks? Any fights yet?
I think big Rossco is boxing a couple of weeks later in his pro debut on the undercard of Iain Butcher. You 'd have to speak with Billy Nelson about how he is adapting though because he is training with him. Hope Ross does well he really is a top guy.
That benson was the biggest fraud in amateur boxing, gift decision after gift decision. Thoroughly looking forward to him getting exposed the moment he fights someone who's not a polish bus driver.
I agree he was lucky a couple of times in the nationals but he won gold when boxing for Scotland at the GB's if I remember correctly.
They gbs were misleading IMO, very rarely did podium squad compete. He's not even the best 64 in his city let alone the country. Absolute joker.
I really like Lewis Benson but I think that Jason will maybe suit the pro game better, he has a decent dig and and can get stuck in as well as being a decent boxer. Lewis will need to adapt to the pro game more and be wiling to sit down on his punches more he won't be able to just potshot the rougher strong guys over the longer distances.
I manage Jason and hes looking very sharp indeed for his debut, I have him out again so after and hope to remain busy with him and getting a good education in the pros, hes been sparring with Lewis Ritson who imo his simply an outstanding prospect at LW. Big Ross is getting trained by his cousin Ryan Scott although im not entirely sure were.
