There could have been rivalries with likely Hall of Famers in Hatton, Mosley, Marquez, Cotto, Alvarez, or Pacquiao had the fights been more competitive.

 

it took him five years and ktfo6 before facing him and he didn't even tried to fight him mano-a-mano but just played safe as usual. floyd's nemesis is himself and the judges and referees. he is steering the sport to another path which is more health comes first, defense oriented, amateur boxing style..

Nothing personal but I always question a persons' knowledge of boxing beyond the past 15 years when they say something like this.

I feel Pac could have been his nemesis had he taken him in 2010.

 

May - Pac was like SRL - Duran 3. It was like the final fight in a trilogy where both fighters are winding down their careers. He had opportunities to create the kind of rivalry others had, he simply chose not to.

 

Hopkins, Calderon, Calzaghe, Golovkin, Wlad, Vitali, etc. not all get a nemesis.

 

The key differences being that they were pfp 1 and 3-5 and fighting at a weight where they were both well established...minor differences.

He acknowledges who was responsible in his now infamous "it was probably our fault" interview for the fight not happening in March of 2010 because they refused to agree to the drug testing proposed. Proposing stricter PED testing is only ever a great thing. Turning down stricter PED testing is only ever a bad thing. Literally no exceptions.

That's kinda the point. The fact that both were past their prime and still top PFP fighters is proof that it has been a weak era.
