Hearns by decision or stoppage on cuts. Hearns would have to play the role of "Motor City Cobra" though, and refrain from trying to play "Hitman." Hamsho would be able to take his best shots. Hearns had the height, reach and jab to keep Hamsho away. He would stink up the joint in an effort to keep Hamsho on the outside. Hamsho was incredibly strong but didn't hit hard enough to dent Hearn's shaky chin, if Hearns fought the right fight. I think he would.
You know this is one of those fairly rare matchups where I think that the highly limited underdog has a pretty good chance of winning. Hamsho was tough as hell, could take a lot, and was somewhat large for the division. His mauling style would have troubled Hearns a lot, I think.
I think you are right, If Hearns boxes and jabs and dosen't get stupid and oblige Hamsho in a brawl he wins.. Hamsho was strong had a high pain threshold , and would try to turn it into a street fight, he would be a very live underdog:deal
Hearns in a very, very close fight. But it wouldn't surprise me if Hamsho beat him. Or Dwight Davidson for that matter.
