Golovkin has faced everyone that would face him at 160lbs. If anything the top middleweights in Martinez and now Cotto have been protected from him.

I'd say Wilder is by the far the most protected. His best win is Stiverne who really only had good one win against Arreola who lost every time he stepped up so basically Stiverne beat a gate keeper.

Khan has been protected of late but it wasn't always the case. He fought Maidana and was chasing Bradley when that fight mattered. But since his last loss he's cherry picked his way into total insignificance.

Lucas Browne as a contender has been protected, not fought anyone that was any good.

 Thee guy is doing a unification against a hard-hhitting top 5 middleweight, and he's protected? Golovkin has also faced anyone he could in middleweight that would fight him. They must be doing an awful job at protecting him. :rofl

You're crazy dude.. The Man fought the legendary 3 Amigos almost consecutively and he is a fraud? Not even JMM fought his compatriot at their best.

how can people say Wilder? In order to have a protected resume you have to have one. Wilder beating bums is not a resume, beating hobos is not even cherry picking, it's just wrong

Duck Runhugger made me spit my tea out and im a floyd fan, very funny. :)

in all seriousness though you're essentially validating his greatness by saying his resume is cherrypicked as he has the best resume in boxing currently. bringing subjective, emotional factors (shot, not prime, tailor made) in doesn't count in bigboy world (adults to the kids out there).
Lets look at Pac, or Thurman, or khan or anyones resume pretty much if he is cherrypicking well then there's only been 9 or 10 non cherrypicked fights in boxing in the last few years, and if you believe that why are you watching boxing??
It's naive to think every fighter is thinking "hmmmm who can definetly beat me? yes i'll pick him"
Why do you think everyone still creams in their pants over hagler hearns? because they are anomalies in a world where everyone wants to win as easily as possible.

Hah,was sure couple of trolls mentioning Floyd and Pac.thanks you didn't dissapointed me.

But yes, maybe Floyd and Manny are more protected than Wilder etc... After all Wilder has fought prime top 5 ATG Stiverne and top 30 ATG Malik.and has bonafied HOF'ers like Schonier,Nichols,Harrison,Molina etc on his resume, and all were PRIME versions.and now he is taking on Duhauppas who is considered by many as future Ali.

Danny Garcia stands out to me. To no fault of his own, he fights whoever Haymon puts in front of him and he's fought some tough competition over the years. But the Herrera and Peterson fights gave me the impression that the only way someone beats him is if they beat him soundly by wide decision or knockout.

Anyone saying FLoyd is a protected fighter is an idiot and just an uneducated boxing fan. I can make an argument about anyone, including the great Ray Robinson, and say he was ducking people in his prime. YOu don't beat approximately 10 hall of fame bound fighters in 50 fights which is roughly 20% of your overall bouts and be considered "protected." Just stupid, inane talks by uneducated posters.

Amusing to see people just showing their hatred for P4P fighters, rather then engaging their tiny brains of their. Within the scheme of things, how can FMJ, Manny and GGG be protected, they have all faced some very tough opponents over their careers, it's not their fault that they are so much better than just about everyone else.

Now Wilder - this is a different story. Biggest joke of an unbeaten 'world champion' since Sugar Nik Valuev. I think Wilder will be shown to be about as good as Tye Fields in the long run.

haymon fighters are being sold for being undefeated. they are protecting their resume's in order to be saleable but which is destroying the sport. although most promoters now have a cash cow that they are protecting for profit. so being undefeated nowadays is just smoke and mirrors and business oriented rather than for the sports legacy.
