I keep hearing people say the fight was 5 years too late, or that Floyd didn't fight prime Manny. Well I remember Floyd trying really hard to make a fight with Manny in 2010. He offered a 50/50 even split and Manny walked away from the table and fought Joshua Clottey? Anybody else remember that, how do you pick Clottey over Mayweather? Who in their right mind would do that? I'm going to have to call that move by prime Pacquiao a 100% absolute DUCK!! Quack Quack
So it's simple, if Manny was prime, at his best, why did he duck Floyd? He would of beat Floyd in 2010 right? Wasn't he still young and prime then, what was he waiting for?
So again, if that was his best chance to beat Floyd shouldn't he had taken the fight? Is there a reason why he didn't want 50/50, he was prime right?
I normally do not follow Pac or May, but did it not have something to do with the drug testing:think I keep hearing people on here complain about it :deal
Manny was offered no PPV. Hardly 50-50 Manny had been slipping ever since the Mosley fight in 2011 - he looked slower, and that's where we started to realise his 'killer instinct' is gone. His career morphed into being a congressman. He'd been in many big fights from 2011, and it takes its toll on a guy who spent his days mainly at the lower weight classes, so many of them being wars and then being knocked out in the most brutal manner where people questioned if he was even alive. Yet that was still at the end of 2012, and he fought on. At 36 years old, he is ancient for an aggressive guy in todays era. It's such a shame that we were given MayPac in 2015. It means little in terms of legacy and ATG ranking implications.
Manny was prime 2005 to 2011 about. And why the fight didn't happen 2010 is because both ducked eachothers, both are prizefighters.financially it made sense,if they have fought 2010 the fight wouldn't generate the Money it generated 2015.and also the loser stock would have dropped.and both were more or less afraid that.of course rematch could be generated.but it will still probably happen 2016 and still generate huge amounts of money. It was close match and people want to see "healthy Pac" These two made probably the biggest scam job in history of boxing.if Floyd ego would allow it,they would make it even further and Floyd would lose the rematch and BOOM we have trilogy.
:deal Sadly emotions mean people start altering reality to make it favour their god Pac as he was the last bastion of hope in defeating mayweather, sorta like religion really....
:deal That Margo fight did some damage, even though he thrashed Margo, he did come out of that unscathed.
It's hard to say. Probably, like Mayweather, I imagine his prime would have been at LW where he would have held size, speed and power advantage over almost anyone. Again, like Mayweather, he was skilled enough to move up in weight and outclass bigger men in higher divisions. So physical wise I'd say his prime was as a LW but in terms of skill, speed and reflexes his prime is very debatable indeed. The man who smashed Hatton, Cotto and Clottey was undoubtedly prime. Even though he wasnt at his best weight he was in his prime. The man who outclassed Bradley and went life and death with Marquez, well if you think that's prime you'd probably have to concede he was prime against Floyd. If he wasn't prime in those bouts you'd probably have to concede that Marquez never beat a prime Pacman. Me personally, I'm not sure what to believe . I think he lost his hunger a bit after the Clottey let down. I haven't see a decline in any skill but his ferocity isn't what it was. Maybe that's because Marquez, Bradley and Mayweather aren't as aggressive as his previous opposition and thus didn't leave him as many openings to exploit but I honestly don't know. I'd probably say he's beyond his peak level but very far from shot right now. The pacman in 2010 was certainly prime.
2009 Neither Pac or Floyd were prime whilst at 147... Hell I never got the opportunity to watch a prime Floyd fight since I only started watching boxing in 2010. The closest I got to see prime Pacquiao was vs Margarito... PBF is real PPV material...money may is :dead
