All the injuries and inactivity WILL play a major factor here, even if Vitali looks good early he always had stamina issues you think they'll improve after a very long lay-off like this one and as a 39/40 year old?, it's just hard to imagine but still Peter's recent fights weren't that impressive either so it's still close in my opinion.

Vitali knocks out Sam "the Missing Link" Peter.
    Golota would do the same.

Not 39-40, he's now 36, and will be 37 by the time this fight happens.

And sometimes if a fighter has been through a grueling career, with their body taking a beating, sometimes a rest such as this is beneficial, assuming they can get the rust blown off in the gym, as much as possible. And given his apparent disciplined lifestyle, he is always in a lean fighting condition, regardless.

His back had been causing him pain for a long time, and given that he's now had that corrected (bone spur removed from his spine) he may now feel better than he has in years.

I predict Vitali will be as good as ever, or very close. :good The guy is too smart, too much of a professional, and too disciplined in his lifestyle and dedication to prepartation, to allow himself to come into a fight unprepared or too rusty. Not happening. THis is not James Toney or Danny Williams we are talking about. Vitali takes his prepartation and conditioning to a very high level.

Peter had better be ready, cause this will be the toughest fight he's ever been in.

Vitali is going to beat the slow plodding Peter to a pulp. Vitali TKO 7.

I think that vitali will have his hands full running the city of Kiev to focus on boxing but if he does than more power to him. I had read that they wanted to schedule the fight after the election and after the Olympics and some European soccer something that is why october was chosen. If he wins he will try to win the title where valuev or chagev is. Whatever that Russians name is

I also read somewhere that the plan is to bring the WBC and WBA together before long, yes. I think if that does happen, it'll be Vitali vs Valuev, which would be MEGA in Germany, especially.

Two big boys in there. They'd have to reinforce the ring.

If Vitali does find a way to beat "The Nightmare", you will not see him fight again for another year, or he will have the belt taken away, if you guys thought Chagaev or Maskaev was, they both have nothing on Vitali "Back Out" Klitschko.

makes sense for the wbc wba connection.. especially since wlad didnt seem to care bout either so vitali can fight for both titles

Maskaev knocked Rahman out of the ring.

Remember when Vitali easily stopped Rahman? Oh wait, he "could have, would have, should have" stopped Rahman.

Quitali's virtual reality resume is terrific.

Exactly, in late 05 before he canceled his fight with Rahman, he was getting his ass layed out in sparring against the likes of Travis Walker and Rapheal Butler, Vitali's best win is over a part-time boxer in Corrie Sanders, the guy is extremely overrated on these boards.

I guess we'll all find out soon enough huh? BTW, Vitali's best win was vs. Johnson, then Williams, then Sanders IMO. His KO of Hide was pretty good too! :thumbsup
