Unless you have a crystal ball, you really could not know. Calzaghe had brittle hands, and his hand speed had declined when he fought Roy and Hops.

Prime Calz would be the third best fighter from 168-175 if he were around today. Ward would have out boxed him and Kov would have battered him violently.

Well, you could say the same about Floyd fighting past prime versions of Pac, De La Hoya, and Mosley too. Some people think old or not Roy and Bernard were good scalps over two ATG fighters.

As for him being p4p, I remember an interview he did on HBO or ESPN around 2008 where everyone was calling him the p4p #1 fighter in the sport, same as they say now about Floyd.

To be fair Pacquiao had been knocked out and fought a puncher in Rios, however tailor made. Algieri beat the only guy left in that stable. This is me being fair, Margarito was a colossal size discrepancy despite his poor form, again, Manny is at the weight so he can get in the ring with them if he is on the scale. Mosley was meh. Hatton was ruined by Floyd evidently and had a pathetic camp. Cotto was 'drained' in his words though I don't believe that. DLH was a complete shuffling scarecrow.

The point I'm making is they say every fighter Mayweather fights is a terrible version (and they rarely mention he gets hugely outweighed by opponents too). I don't consider them cherry picks, but if others claim Mayweather is a chronic cherry picker, I use the same standard. He just fought much worse versions than Mayweather in respect to common opponents except Marquez. I consider Berto, Ortiz, Guerrero and Baldomir ''cherry picks'' for Floyd. and Mayweather fought a dragged up Marquez and more battleworn Cotto though it was at a weight he wasn't comfortable at.

Joe is kinda underrated on some forums, but on here he's so overrated isn't inconceivable.

Actually he is UNDERRATED here as well, it is just that today the anti-Calzaghe trolls are not in full force. :yep

Well these hypothetical matchups are pointless, unless you are in possession of a crystal ball.

Lmao! Calz fan boys are amazing.

Nobody requires a crystal ball to know that Spinks would have destroyed Calzaghe.
